The Marines are one of the Three Great Powers of the One Piece world, the others being the Yonko and now possibly the SSG. Known to be the military face of the World Government, the Marines are extremely strong and they utilize their forces to put an end to the age of pirates.
Being such a powerful organization, it goes without saying that a couple of Marines are strong enough to put up a fight against some of the Yonko, but most of them pale in comparison to the unparalleled strength of the rulers of the New World.
10 CAN FIGHT: Garp Was A Match For The King Of The Pirates
Garp is one of the strongest known characters in the history of One Piece. Having been a Marine for most of his life, Garp has fought against and crushed countless pirates and even played a part in the defeat of the infamous Rocks.
Garp was recognized by Roger to be powerful enough to fight him and it is quite evident that he is strong enough to fight any of the Yonko as well.
9 DOESN’T STAND A CHANCE: Bastille Lost To Sabo Without Putting Up A Proper Fight
Bastille is one of the Vice Admirals of the Marines, just like Garp, but their strength is not comparable. While Garp was strong enough to fight monstrous pirates, Bastille couldn’t hold his own against Sabo.
Although he is a user of Armament and Observation Haki, he is still quite weak and would definitely not be able to beat a Yonko Commander, let alone fight a Yonko.
8 CAN FIGHT: Sengoku Is A Legendary Marine & Strong Enough To Earn Roger’s Respect
Known as The Buddha, Sengoku is the former Fleet Admiral of the Marines and a legend of the old era. Recognized to be a legendary figure by the likes of Whitebeard, Sengoku’s strength is respected by the entire world of One Piece.
In Oden’s flashback, Roger considered him to be one of the few men capable of fighting with Garp, which proved beyond any doubt that he can fight the Yonko as well.
7 DOESN’T STAND A CHANCE: Maynard Is Among The Weakest Vice Admirals In The Story So Far
Maynard is a Vice-Admiral whose prowess was displayed to the fans in the Dressrosa arc. While he was strong enough to put up a fight against some of the Colosseum fighters, he was easily dealt with by Bartolomeo.
Maynard’s powers aren’t comparable to some of the officers of the Yonko crew and certainly not to the Yonko themselves. In fact, he could possibly succumb to their Conqueror’s Haki alone.
6 CAN FIGHT: Sakazuki Has Already Fought Against One Of The Yonko
During the Marineford arc of One Piece, Sakazuki fought against Whitebeard, one of the Yonko and the strongest man in the world. Although Whitebeard was old and sickly, he was still a man worthy of being called the strongest.
Sakazuki evidently lost to Whitebeard but he put up a decent fight and, because of Whitebeard’s illness, managed to land some lethal blows on him.
5 DOESN’T STAND A CHANCE: Onigumo Is A Strong Vice-Admiral But Not Comparable To The Yonko Themselves
Another Vice-Admiral, Onigumo ranks among the strongest of their ranks as evident from his display at Marineford. Being a believer in Absolute Justice, Onigumo is quite aggressive when dealing with pirates and doesn’t give them an inch.
He wields two basic types of Haki along with the power of the Kumo Kumo no Mi Zoan Devil Fruit. Despite all his powers, he falls short of the likes of the Yonko Commanders and the Yonko by themselves.
4 CAN FIGHT: Kizaru Is An Admiral & The Strongest Force Of The Marines
Borsalino, also known as Admiral Kizaru, is a light human who ate the Pika Pika no Mi Logia type Devil Fruit. He’s an Admiral of the Marines, which makes him a fearsome enemy for anyone in the world of One Piece.
Kizaru’s strength is great enough to fight the likes of the Dark King, Silvers Rayleigh. What’s more, he even fought Whitebeard momentarily in Marineford and inflicted some injuries to him.
3 DOESN’T STAND A CHANCE: Momonga’s Power Isn’t Enough To Compete With The Yonko
Momonga is one of the earliest Vice Admirals to be introduced in the story. Although he hasn’t played a major role in any arc, Momonga was seen fighting in Marineford where he fared well.
He fought the Whitebeard Pirates commanders and the allies of the crew, but when he’s next to the likes of Whitebeard and the other Yonko, he pales in comparison.
2 CAN FIGHT: Fujitora Is An Admiral & Similar To Kizaru In Terms Of Power
Introduced in the series after the two-year time-skip, Fujitora is one of the two Admirals who took up the spots left by Akainu and Aokiji after the Paramount War. He was described by Doflamingo as a beast in combat which just goes to show that he’s among the very strongest in the series.
Fujitora wields two Haki types and the power of the Zushi Zushi no Mi, a Paramecia type of Devil Fruit that allows him to control gravity. A man of his caliber can certainly fight the Yonko.
1 DOESN’T STAND A CHANCE: Koby Is Still Just A Marine Captain & Needs To Grow Further
Luffy’s friend, Koby’s training under Garp has made him one of the strongest Marine Captains in the story. He has great control over Observation Haki and can also use the powers of Rokushiki.
Despite everything, Koby needs to grow to achieve his dream of becoming an Admiral. Currently, he stands no chance against the likes of the Yonko.
