WARNING: The following contains spoilers for NBC’s Good Girls Season 4, Episode 6, “Grandma Loves Grisham.”
In NBC’s Good Girls, Beth continues to play a deadly game of cat-and-mouse with Rio as she tries to send him to prison for forcing her into his cartel. She’s now snitching for the FBI, but it’s gotten complicated as Beth’s set to meet Rio’s boss and move up the empire’s ladder. While Beth managed to get the feds to pluck her husband, Dean, out of jail for laundering, now she’s made an even bigger mess of things by repeating her biggest mistake.
Beth knows Rio’s suspicious of her, but he can’t help but admire the good work she’s done lately with her counterfeiting ring. The FBI see this as an opportunity and wire her up, thinking she’s going to meet the rest of the cartel. However, it’s actually a family dinner as Rio has been talking her up as his new business partner. In fact, the family thinks there’s more to their relationship, which he doesn’t seem to mind.

As he places his hand on her back, Beth panics since she doesn’t want him feeling the wire. She fakes going to the washroom and hides it behind some books in his granny’s shelf, which is organized meticulously. Before Beth can neaten things, Rio comes in. He asks her what’s the delay, and she says she’s interested in the family pictures; however, the twist comes when Beth distracts Rio from the books by reaching for his pants. He decides to take control, and they have sex against the shelf. It’s poor judgement as Beth and Rio had an affair before, and it complicated their business relationship.
She did it to get back at Dean, who was a cheat back then, but it seems now like she does have residual feelings. Rio’s hard to read, and him playing hard to get might be clouding her judgement. Beth eventually fixes the books and heads off, with the FBI agents realizing she’s good at improvising after listening in; however, now they’re wondering if she’s emotionally compromised.
Worst of all, Beth promised Dean she’d never get with Rio again, for business or pleasure, and now she’s thrown that away. This could be the final nail in her marriage coffin, and more so, it gives Rio, someone who already tried to kill Dean, the ultimate leverage. Simply put, Beth slept with the devil again after getting burned, and this time, the repercussions may be more dire.
