Supergirl’s Time-Traveling Teaser Introduces a Teenage Kara | CBR

Brainiac-5 and Dreamer go to 2009 in the promo for next week’s new episode of Supergirl, “Prom Night.”

The promo starts with Nia telling the rest of the Super Friends that in order to get Kara out of the Phantom Zone, they have to go back in time. This is followed by Alex Danvers telling Brainy and Nia not to mess “[her] past” up. During these scenes, text reading, “Have a blast in the past” appears.

Nia later tells Brainy that they only have to worry about not being seen. The promo then ends with Brainy and Nia meeting a teenage Kara Danvers, who introduces herself to them by using her Kryptonian name, Kara Zor-El.

THE FLASHBACK TO MIDVALE INTRODUCES A YOUNG CAT GRANT — Nia (Nicole Maines) and Brainy (Jesse Rath) attempt to save Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) from the Phantom Zone by time traveling back to Kara’s home in 2009. While determined to secure the item needed to help Supergirl, Brainy is worried about keeping a low profile so as not to alter the future timeline. However, when their ship crashes upon arrival, a young Kara Danvers (guest star Izabela Vidovic) is the first on the scene. Meanwhile, a young reporter named Cat Grant (guest star Eliza Helm) sets her sights on Midvale as she suspects there is a big story in the small town. Alexandra LaRoche directed the episode written by Rob Wright & Jess Kardos (#605). Original airdate 4/27/2021.

Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers, David Harewood as Martian Manhunter, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers, Nicole Maines as Dreamer and Jesse Rath as Brainiac-5. New episodes air Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
