This ‘John Cena as Frogs’ Thread Is Why Twitter Was Invented

The official description of Twitter from Wikipedia is, “Twitter is an American microblogging and social networking service on which users post and interact with messages known as ‘tweets'” but it is clear that the true description of Twitter is “The place where the whole world got the chance to experience the joy of John Cena…as frogs.”

Jack Goodwin is a sportswriter in the United Kingdom who covers both Premier League football and professional wrestling. One of the things that he is best known for is to take a notable celebrity (typically a professional wrestler) and then do a thread on Twitter where he compares photos of that celebrity wearing various outfits to photos of something odd that he ties to the celebrity photo based on what the celebrity is wearing. For instance, he might do a thread on, say, The Rock as socks, and show different colored socks that match the same colors of shirts that Rock is wearing in publicity photos.

Here, he has chosen the professional wrestling and acting star, John Cena, as his subject and he is comparing Cena to, well, frogs. He starts things off simply enough, with Cena wearing standard single-colored shirts, like a green shirt compared with a typical looking green frog…

The colors get more elaborate as the thread goes along, and we see some more surprising colors, like a deep purple frog found in the Western Ghats in India….

Then things gets even more elaborate, as we see Cena rocking some outfits that would normally not make you think about frogs at all, but Goodwin finds a way to pair Cena with some exotic frogs, like the Blue poison dart frog, which can be found in the Sipaliwini Savanna in the small South American nation of Suriname.

Possibly the best frog on the list (and, appropriately enough, the one that Goodwin caps the thread off with) is set up with a shot of Cena wearing a camouflage shirt (with “You can’t see me” written on it) and then paired with a frog that has, well, camouflaged itself within its woodsy surroundings…

Be sure to head to Twitter to check out the whole glorious thread.
