Want to go to Disneyland? So does everyone else, apparently.
Ahead of its April 30 reopening, tickets for the Happiest Place on Earth went on sale on April 15 at 8 a.m. However, the ticket website is facing major delays, as customers flood the site to purchase tickets. As of this writing, the approximate wait time to make a purchase is “more than an hour.”
At 4:14 p.m. PST, the following message was posted on the site. “We are experiencing high demand given the historic nature of the Disneyland Resort’s reopening. To deliver a strong Guest experience, we are deliberately pulsing Guests through the system. Wait times may be several hours or more depending on when you joined the queue. We still have plenty of reservation availability, and we plan to keep the system open throughout the night to accommodate the demand. Please don’t refresh and we will get you through the queue as soon as we can. We know you are just as excited to return to the Disneyland Resort as we are to welcome you back, and we thank you for your patience as we work to accommodate as many Guests as possible.”

Tickets can only be purchased through the reservation system and cannot be bought at the park gates. Furthermore, only California residents are allowed to enter the park, a policy that is adhering to current state guidelines. Masks must be worn in the park — which will operate at a limited capacity — and Disney is instituting a series of health and safety procedures to ensure that guests stay healthy.
Disneyland and Disney California Adventure have been closed for over a year, but guests will be treated to new experiences upon their return. On June 4, the highly anticipated Avengers Campus will open to the public in California Adventure. Located right by the existing Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission Breakout!, the Marvel-themed are will include a Spider-Man ride, as well as restaurants based on Ant-Man and the Wasp and the shawarma shop from The Avengers. And this could be just the beginning. Concept art from the Disneyland Forward initiative revealed that a Wakanda expansion could be in the works.
Disneyland is not the only theme park reaping its gates. Universal Studios Hollywood is rolling out the red carpet and welcoming guests back into the park on April 16.
