AEW Combats NXT’s TakeOver Card With Mike Tyson’s Return | CBR

AEW made waves in 2020 when boxing legend Mike Tyson made appearances on its programming. But with WrestleMania week in full swing, AEW is making sure that they are still creating headlines with Iron Mike’s return on Wednesday, April 8. Coinciding with the first night of NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver, Tyson will make his first appearance on Dynamite in almost a year, and for the first time in front of a live AEW crowd.

Tyson first popped up on AEW in May 2020 at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view as part of the crowning of the first TNT Champion, Cody Rhodes. And fan-favorite “Hangman” Adam Page will take on “Platinum” Max Caster.

On the NXT side of things, the first evening of Stand and Deliver will pit the NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai against Raquel Gonzalez and NXT United Kingdom Champion WALTER against Tommaso Ciampa. MSK, Grizzled Young Veterans and Legado del Fantasma will also compete for the vacant NXT Tag Team Championships, while a gauntlet match determines Johnny Gargano’s opponent for night two.

NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver airs Wednesday, April 7 and Thursday, April 8 at the Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando on Peacock and the USA Network. WrestleMania 37 will take place Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay on Peacock in the United States and on WWE Network everywhere else. AEW Dynamite broadcasts every Wednesday at 8pm ET on TNT.
