The life-sized replica of Din Djarin’s Razor Crest ship that was built by a fan of the hit TV Star Wars series The Mandalorian was recently destroyed by a wind storm.
News of the replica’s demise was confirmed by Reddit user Don_Rumata_Estorsky, who posted an image of the ship’s demise along with the caption, “Remember Russian guys who made real-life Razor Crest replica? It was destroyed by the wind.”
Another Reddit user commented on the irony of the replica being destroyed, as The Mandalorian’s ship was also destroyed in Season 2 of the Star Wars series. “That only makes it more authentic, after Season 2,” Reddit user Benjamin_Grimm said.

In March 2020, The Mandalorian fan Ayaal Fyodorov and his team spent $10,000 to recreate Djarin’s ship using foam, metal and fiberboard. Fyodorov raised most of the money to build the ship through an online crowd-sourcing campaign. It was also revealed at the time that a private information technology company rented a hangar for the ship to be built in.
Fyodorov, who goes by Just Ayaal on YouTube, posted a series of videos documenting building the ship, which measured 46 feet in length craft and weighed more than one ton. The replica has become a tourist attraction for people around Fyodorov’s hometown of Yakutsk, Siberia.
The Razor Crest made its first appearance in The Mandalorian during Season 1, Episode 1, and was shown in some capacity in every single episode of Season 1, as well as the first six episodes of Season 2. The ship met its end in Season 2‘s “Chapter 14: The Tragedy,” when it was blasted to pieces by Moff Gideon’s light cruiser.
Dedicated Mandalorian fans will recall that, at the end of 2020, it was revealed the Razor Crest features a small escape pod. The previously unknown feature was confirmed in a new book called The Art of Star Wars: The Mandalorian. In the book, designers referred to the pod as a “Life Pod.” They also revealed that when series creator Jon Favreau first saw the pod in the ship’s design, he asked that it be kept as part of the design moving forward — even if it wasn’t featured in any major scenes.
Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers and Giancarlo Esposito. Seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming on Disney+.
