Many series have at least one villain, but villains are typically more intimidating as a group. In this situation, the heroes have to worry about fighting multiple like-minded people, possibly all at once. These groups have discarded their morals and have members that are particularly sadistic.
Many people have suffered or even died at their hands. Worst of all, many of these groups are usually controlled by a powerful leader, who is far stronger and more influential than all of their subordinates combined. Defeating these groups is no easy feat, and often requires a lot of effort and even some sacrifice to do so.
10 Bleach: The Espada Have The Powers Of Both A Hollow & A Shinigami
By removing their masks, Hollows in Bleach gain the powers of a Shinigami and become Arrancar. The Espada are the ten strongest Arrancar in Hueco Mundo, and each one is as strong as a Shinigami Captain. They are led by Aizen, a villain who spent years manipulating others and subjecting innocents to brutal experiments.
Rukia Kuchiki was defeated by the 6th Espada, Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez, in one punch, and Ichigo Kurosaki barely won against the Espada that he fought, showing fans just how threatening the Espada are.
9 Fushigi Yuugi: The Celestial Warriors Of Seiryuu Nearly Destroyed The World
The Celestial Warriors of Seiryuu all bear the mark of Seiryuu, one of the four gods in Fushigi Yuugi. Their marks grant them supernatural powers, and once gathered together, their priestess, Yui Hongo, is able to summon Seiryuu and make three wishes.
The warriors are faithful to Yui as well as Nakago, who is not only the strongest of the group, but is also talented at manipulating others. Most of the warriors are sadistic and cruel, who enjoy tormenting the Suzaku warriors.
8 Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood: The Homunculi Killed Countless People
Each Homunculus is an artificially created human in Fullmetal Alchemist. The Homunculi consider themselves better than humans, often sadistically enjoying their suffering. They are incredibly difficult to kill because they can regenerate themselves rapidly no matter what kind of wound they receive, and they do not age.
Many of the Homunculi are able to manipulate others into doing their bidding but do not hesitate to dispose of anyone who outlives their usefulness.
7 Demon Slayer: The Twelve Demon Moons Are The Strongest Demons & Are Difficult To Defeat
The Twelve Demon Moons are the twelve most powerful demons that serve Muzan Kibutsuji. There are six demons in the upper ranks and six in the lower ranks, and the power difference between these two ranks is vast.
While the lower ranks have been repeatedly slain by the Pillars, the strongest swordsmen of the Demon Slayer Corps, the higher ranks have lived for at least a hundred years and killed many Pillars.

In My Hero Academia, the League of Villains have severely damaged society’s faith in heroes. Once All Might was forced to retire after his battle against All For One, Endeavor became the number one hero, although he was never really seen as the pillar of Japan.
His fight against the Nomu was a hard-earned victory that still made society question his capability, but when his dark past was revealed by Dabi, the people lost faith in him entirely. Many heroes retired after the all-out war against the League, unable to handle the burden of being heroes any longer.
5 Bleach: The Sternritter Can Steal Bankai
The Sternritter are a group of Quincy that established themselves as being even more powerful than the Arrancar. Their power was so overwhelming that they were able to defeat and capture the Arrancar with ease.
The Sternritter were able to steal Bankai from Shinigami, which is the Shinigami’s most powerful move. Even the Captains were not able to fight the strongest members one on one, forced to fight together in order to win their respective battles.

In the eyes of most people, the Red Ribbon Army is a powerful, unstoppable force that even the Earth’s military cannot defeat. In their quest to obtain every Dragon Ball, they don’t care who they have to threaten, step on, or sacrifice in order to get their hands on them.
Most people who see them try to run. One highly trained Officer is frightening enough, but the entire group as a whole seems unstoppable for anyone that isn’t Goku.
3 Fairy Tail: The Oracion Seis Wanted To Turn Guilds Against Each Other
The Oracion Seis was a Dark Guild in Fairy Tail, which had so much influence that they controlled some of the other dark guilds as well. It was comprised only of 6 members, yet each member was powerful enough to take down an entire guild on their own.
Their plan was to capture Nirvana, a dark magic that they intended to use to turn the good guilds evil so that they would turn against and destroy each other. An all-out magic war would be catastrophic.
2 Pokémon: Team Rocket Steals Pokémon
While Jessie, James, and Meowth are relatively harmless, the organization as a whole is quite dark. They want to steal whatever Pokémon that they can get their hands on. They prefer rare Pokémon and are not concerned about the consequences.
They even perform experiments on Pokémon. They created Mewtwo merely because they wanted to create the most powerful Pokémon in the world, which they would manipulate to do nefarious deeds.
1 Sailor Moon: The Dark Kingdom Won Against The Sailor Scouts Once
The Dark Kingdom in Sailor Moon attacked the Moon Kingdom and killed many of its inhabitants, Princess Serenity included. Queen Serenity, at the cost of her life, sealed away the Dark Kingdom and sent the deceased inhabitants to Earth, where they would be reincarnated.
When the Dark Kingdom becomes active again, they resume their plan to conquer the universe. The members are cruel and sadistic, even going so far as to eliminate their own comrades on a whim.
