The latest trailer for Magic: Legends has revealed the newest Planeswalker class: The Dimir Assassin.
Narrated by Magic: Legends design lead Adam Heteyni, the trailer goes over the different abilities that the Dimir possesses. Among these abilities are “Disinformation,” a level 30 trait that allows players to gain Lesser Resistance when the player draws a spell or make enemies more vulnerable by discarding one. The “Nightveil Stalker” spell deals damage to a foe — stunning them in the process — and can allow players to teleport and strike a foe for every third spell they draw.
The Dimir Assassin is part of a massive patch for Magic: Legends that addresses several bugs in the game. It will be unlockable for level 50 players as part of the battle pass, which was also updated with new and/or missing items following the patch. Magic: Legends recently opened up a free beta period for consoles and PC, which finds players taking the role of a Planeswalker based on the five colors of mana.
In Magic: The Gathering lore, Dimir is one of the ten guilds on the plane of Ravinica. Founded by the vampire Szadek, it is a guild based in secrecy and shadows that twists events to its advantage — often through subterfuge or murder. When Szadek was killed, the shapeshifting mindmage Lazav took over the guild.
Developed by Cryptic Studios and published by Perfect World Entertainment, Magic: Legends arrives on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC later this year. The open beta is available now.
