Star Wars: The Bad Batch, which is scheduled to premiere on May 4 and follow the adventures of Clone Force 99 after the fall of the Galactic Republic, dropped a new trailer that introduces a character that just might be the final clone in the Jango Fett line. In the new look, the Bad Batch meets a young child with blonde hair on their home planet of Kamino. The girl’s name is Omega, and it appears as if she will play a big part in the series.
After learning of their new position in the galaxy, the trailer shows the five members of the Bad Batch — Wrecker, Tech, Crosshair, Hunter and Echo — walking down a hallway on Kamino where they first meet Omega. The “kid,” as the group designates her, knows each member of the group name and appears to look up to them, which seems to be an indicator that she is actually one of Jango Fett’s clones.

While she doesn’t look exactly like Jango, Omega does look very similar in the face, and although she has unusually colored hair, The Clone Wars has featured blonde clones before. Blonde hair appears to be somewhat rare in clones and could be an important visual cue for audiences to understand that Omega is meant to stand out from everyone around her. This will be necessary because if Omega is, in fact, a clone, she could be a very important one.
Her name, while never mentioned in the trailer, means “last.” This might indicate that she is the last clone made from Fett’s DNA, and her headpiece, which is similar to the one Nala Se wore in The Clone Wars, could signify that she is important to the Kaminoans. Her appearnce, however, isn’t the only thing that distinguishes her. Omega is a girl, which automatically makes her an anomaly. She is different from everyone else around her, and that might explain why she seems to look up to the Bad Batch, who all have something defective about them. They didn’t turn out as intended, but they made the best of their situation and are still very successful at what they do.
The trailer even goes as far as to tease Omega becoming the sixth member of the Bad Batch. At the end of the new look, when the group is franticly trying to escape Kamino, she’s invited to come along and is eager to join up. Omega joining the Bad Batch will see her have a major role in the show, but if she actually is the final clone, she could have an even bigger part to play in the Star Wars franchise going forward.
Created by Dave Filoni, Star Wars: The Bad Batch stars Dee Bradley Baker and Ming-Na Wen. The series premieres May 4 on Disney+.
