Disney+’s upcoming Star Wars series Obi-Wan Kenobi has unveiled its full cast, which includes faces new and old.
Alongside returning cast members Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan and Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader is Joel Edgerton, who played a young Owen Lars in the prequel trilogy. Joining them are Moses Ingram, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie. Disney+ also confirmed filming will kick off in April.
Obi-Wan Kenobi will follow the Jedi Master during his period of exile on Tatooine between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. At Disney’s Investor Day presentation in late 2020, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy officially confirmed that McGregor’s sequel trilogy co-star Hayden Christensen will reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, setting the stage for a rematch between the two former friends.
Directed by Deborah Chow, Obi-Wan Kenobi stars Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Joel Edgerton, Moses Ingram, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie. The series has yet to receive a premiere date.
