Having survived the first attack by Invictus with the help of Bolo, the crew of the Crimson Light find themselves on a desolate planet with the only food source being slug-like creatures. Having spent a month together, Gary reminds Quinn she can confide in him over her experiences in Final Space, but she doesn’t want to and reveals to the audience that she’s been mentally traumatized and suffers from physical injuries.
Just as they get comfortable, an army of alternate timeline Garys possessed by Invictus rush the survivors. As they run for safety, an even bigger danger arrives in the form of a titan. Fortunately, the team has Bolo to help with the monster sized issue. Unfortunately, the fighters utilize the planets around them to inflict pain, thus risking the lives of the crew. With one missed punch by Bolo, the planet splits, and the crew falls through, physically being split up.
However, Gary and Avocato’s friendship connects them telepathically, revealing both groups are okay, so they agree to find a way out and meet up. With that issue handled, Gary, Quinn, HUE and Tribore make it through every exit they can until another issue comes up: Tribore goes into labor. While this becomes a short inconvenience, Tribore’s child, Quatronosto, grows of age within seconds and helps take down the alternate Garys attacking them.
As the real Gary and Quinn make it to the surface, they are met with one final blow. Bolo’s unconscious body slams into the planet, creating a wave big enough to knock them both off of it. As the fight ends, Mooncake’s left wondering if Gary survived. Luckily, Gary survives but remains separated from Avocato and the rest. As all hope seems lost, he looks up and sees a sign of comfort: Earth.
Created by Olan Rogers, Final Space stars Olan Rogers, Tom Kenny, Tika Sumpter, Fred Armisen, Steven Yuen, David Tennant and Coty Galloway. Season 3 airs Saturdays on Adult Swim.
