In Jan. 2014, it was reported Disney was developing a live-action/animated Chip ‘n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers movie, with Robert Rugan writing and directing. Schaffer replaced Rugan at the helm in May 2019, with Doug Mand and Dan Gregor (Dolittle, Magic Camp) reportedly writing the script.
