Captain Levi was arguably the strongest ODM user in the Attack On Titan universe and an extremely skilled warrior. He was able to dispatch dozens of soldiers at a moment’s notice on top of the many titans he defeated.
Though his skill and precision both receive proper recognition within his own universe, it does not guarantee he might fare similarly against a different roster of characters. Through matching him against some of the most formidable individuals of My Hero Academia, we can gauge how lethal the Captain actually is, especially when pitted against quirks.
10 Could Beat: Shinso’s Mind Control Wouldn’t Work On The Laconic Captain
Shinso’s quirk allows him to dominate the mind of his target. Using this ability, he could rival opponents with dramatically higher strength, speed, and skill, proven through his fight against Midoriya in the Sports Festival.
However, its success hinges on his victim’s vocal affirmation to whatever the user asks. Therefore, if Levi simply chooses to ignore the hero – as he would be inclined to since the two of them don’t have a personal relationship and because of his frequently displayed stoicism – he would have no trouble cutting his opponent down.
9 Would Lose To: Mirio’s Permeation Counters Levi Perfectly
Mirio’s “Permeation” quirk allowed him to make any part of his body intangible. This would render him extremely difficult to meaningfully harm, especially due to his astounding reflexes (having overcome all twenty of Class 1-A’s students simultaneously).
Though it wouldn’t be impossible for Levi to defeat him since he might eventually learn to target the part of Mirio’s body that keeps him from slipping through the floor, it’s more likely that he would be overwhelmed by the student’s raw brawn before he had an opportunity to figure him out.
8 Could Beat: Overhaul’s Offense & Defense Aren’t Anything Levi Hasn’t Seen Before
Overhaul was a tremendously powerful Yakuza crime lord who could kill anyone with a single touch. Additionally, he was able to create massive earthen spikes and mend any injury by placing a hand on his body.
However, none of these talents would be sufficient against Levi. He has demonstrated the agility to defeat dozens of gunmen, entailing that Overhaul’s ranged tactics could not harm him. Moreover, his swords would allow him to create distance to avoid direct physical contact with his opponent and decapitate him before he could heal.
7 Would Lose To: Levi Has No Answer For Endeavor’s Radius Attacks
In addition to flying, Endeavor can unleash pulses of unprecedented infernal fury from the center of his body. Though Levi is skilled at dodging even the most broad-sweeping attacks (as proven through his fight against Zeke), he could not avoid the hero if his quirk was activated at point-blank range.
Moreover, his scout uniform is not flame retardant, and he has never demonstrated profound durability (much less against heat). Therefore, it would only take a single mistake for Ackermann to meet his demise.
6 Could Beat: Eraserhead’s Quirk Would Be Worthless Against Him
Eraserhead was one of the most capable heroes of the narrative for his ability to negate quirks. In theory, this might prove useful against characters like Eren or Armin since it would prevent them from accessing titan form.
However, it is completely worthless against Levi since his formidability is predicated entirely on the merit of his combat prowess. He would be able to defeat Eraserhead handily since his blade could carve through Aizawa’s shroud and the man behind it.
5 Would Lose To: Stain, Who Comes Better Equipped & With A Deadly Quirk
Levi and Stain are evenly matched in terms of swordsmanship. The former was able to maneuver around massive attacks and decimate dozens of soldiers, while the latter evaded three of the finest students in U.A High.
However, there are a number of factors that would secure Stain’s victory. Not only does he have higher durability (proven through how he withstood punches from Midoriya), he also carries many more hidden weapons that are employed actively in the battle. Further, Ackermann would not have prior knowledge of his quirk and could not anticipate that a single scratch might end him.
4 Could Beat: Fatgum, Whose Quirk Works Best With Blunt Trauma
Fatgum’s quirk allows him to absorb blunt trauma from his opponents and convert it into power. Unfortunately for him, he is grossly unprepared to counter Levi’s penetrating attacks, nor does he possess the reflexes to fend him off.
Further, even if he could miraculously concentrate the abuse he sustained into a powered fist, Ackermann’s ODM gymnastics would make it virtually impossible to land a solid punch. Therefore, Fatgum lacks both the offense and defense necessary to challenge the Captain.
3 Would Lose To: All Might, Who Wouldn’t Need A Direct Punch To Defeat Him
All Might has profound durability and stamina, as demonstrated through the direct abuse he endured against All For One. This entails that any damage Levi inflicts against the hero outside of his vital organs would be ultimately trivial.
Moreover, Toshinori is more than capable of catching Levi and snapping his neck in seconds. This was demonstrated through how he landed over three hundred targeted punches against the prime nomu at the battle for U.A High in under a minute.
2 Could Beat: Nighteye Wouldn’t Be Able To Stop Levi In Spite Of His Clairvoyance
Nighteye’s quirk allowed him to see into the future, using it to anticipate his opponent’s moves. As a result, he managed to avoid Midoriya even with the young man channeling One For All at twenty percent.
However, Levi is considerably faster than Deku and possesses greater experience. Consequently, though Nighteye would be fully aware of how his opponent intended to strike him down, he could not physically maneuver himself from his impending demise – much like how he was skewered with earthen spikes during his defeat by Overhaul.
1 Would Lose To: Levi’s Titan Tactics Are Irrelevant Against Gigantomachia
Gigantomachia was an enormous villain whose likeness strongly resembles a titan. As a result, Levi would be inclined to attack the nape of the brute’s neck in order to bring him down.
However, his opponent’s hardening quirk would protect him from Levi’s assault. Since he can sustain it across his entire body and because he commands far more endurance than the giants Ackermann is familiar with (having fought Shigaraki and the League of Villains for over an entire consecutive month), he would be able to wear the hero down and eventually crush him.
