Canadian charity organization Comic Legends Legal Defense Fund (CLLDF) has raised $16,000 so far to help keep Canadian comic stores open.
CLLDF’s money raising efforts have been focused around a Twitter auction titled #Canucks4Comics, in which numerous Canadian comic creators contributed items to be auctioned online, raising $16,000 in the process.
Added to CLLDF’s own $10,000 fund investment, the organziation will begin distributing $26,000 directly to Canadian comic shops for relief with rent and other expenses while many retailers are closed or operating on a limited capacity due to coronavirus.
CLLDF expects to begin distributing funds later this month.
