DC Chief Creative Officer/Publisher Jim Lee drew three more sketches over the weekend for his 60-sketches/60-days art auction to benefit comic shops via the Book Industry Charitable Foundation (BINC).
Lee sketched his Huntress redesign, the classic Deathstroke, and the Stephanie Brown-Batgirl. The first two were done as a diptych.
As usual Lee is auctioning all off the sketches on eBay, with each auction lasting three days. The active sketches can be found here: Huntress, Deathstroke, and Batgirl.
18 Lee sketches (so far) have generated over $158,000 in bids.
The plan is to use these as variant covers to upcoming DC titles, and also collect them into a book of its own.
All the proceeds will be donated to the comic book shop fund set up by the Book Industry Charitable Foundation (BINC).
BINC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to assisting booksellers in need – including comic booksellers. In the past, BINC has offered financial assistance to comic book stores affected by natural disasters and other unexpected financial crises.
On March 18, BINC stepped up to specify its continued support of comic book retailers in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
