The drumbeat for Marvel Comics’ next big Amazing Spider-Man story begins in April with the Sins Rising Prelude one-shot
ASM series writer Nick Spencer, working with artist Kim Jacinto, is revealing the “secret history” of the recently-resurrected Sin-Eater.
There have been three different Sin-Eaters in Marvel Comics continuity, but this seems centered on the first. Originally created by Peter David and Rich Buckler 1985’s Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #107, the original version was a disgraced S.H.I.E.L.D. operative who began killing those he deemed “sinners” – the first being Captain Jean DeWolff. He ultimately died in a ‘suicide by cop’ incident, but was brought back by Kindred in January 8’s Amazing Spider-Man #37.
