Former Queen Sugar co-showrunner Melissa Carter has been named as co-showrunner of DC Universe’s Stargirl. Carter, who was previously onboard the show as an executive producer, will now share showrunning duties with the show’s (and title character’s) creator Geoff Johns.
Carter is a long-time Warner Bros. TV producer, and recently renewed her multi-year deal with Warner Horizon Scripted Television. She was the co-showrunner of OWN’s Queen Sugar alongside Ava Duvernay.
DC anticipates Stargirl to debut sometime in Spring 2020.
