BOOM!’s UNSOUND Gets NETFLIX Film Adaptation from SHAZAM! Director

Shazam! director David F. Sandberg is set to direct a film adaptation of Cullen Bunn and Jack Cole’s BOOM! Studios comic book Unsound for Netflix, according to Deadline.

Netflix reportedly nabbed the rights for the film after a heated bidding process. Unsound will be written by Skylar Jones and will be Sandberg’s return to horror movies.

Unsound tells the tale of a woman who works in an asylum where her mother is a patient – and which is subject to the supernatural ramifications of a horrifying secret past.

Unsound marks the first BOOM! Studios adaptation announced since Disney purchased 20th Century Fox, wh have a ‘first look’ deal with with BOOM! for film and TV projects.

No release date for Unsound was announced.
