Seinfeld alum/Master of His Domain Jason Alexander has thrown his name into the hat to play the Penguin in 2021’s The Batman. This comes after Jonah Hill reportedly passed on the role.

He’s referring to the Seinfeld episode “The Marine Biologist,” where Alexander’s character George Costanza pretends to be a Marine biologist to impress a woman. Spoilers… but things go awry when he’s asked to save a beached whale.

(Funny he didn’t mention voicing an actual penguin in 2007’s Farce of the Penguins).

If he were to land the role, may we suggest a plot in which he tries to poison prominent Gotham citizen with cheap invitations envelopes?

Alexander has already secured another DC role – voicing Syd Borgman in DC Universe’s upcoming Harley Quinn, debuting November 29.

The Batman, which stars Robert Pattinson in the title role, is scheduled for a June 25, 2021 theatrical release.
