Hot on the heels of a Disney+ TV show of his own, Marvel’s Moon Knight will be rearing his head once again in comics come this September according to Marvel Comics’ Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski. In replying to a tweet from Newsarama about Marvel Studios’ plans for the Black Knight, Cebulski mentioned plans for that knight and this knight going forward.
“…And Moon Knight comes back in an awesome and unexpected way this December!!” Cebulski tweeted.
The character is already slated for a brief return in September 11’s Moon Knight Annual #1 as part of the “Acts of Evil” crossover, and recently appeared in a Marvel Comics Presents #4 short, but the way Cebulski frames it December will be a bit different.
Back in April, the Marvel Comics Presents #4 Moon Knight authors Benjamin Percy and Juan Ferreya both told Newsarama they would love to do more with the character.
“I’m always thrilled to partner with my buddy Juan – and our sensibilities are perfectly matched for Moon Knight,” Percy said. “If it works out for us to keep playing in this sandbox (which is full of the blackest, foulest sand by the way), then I’d be…over the moon.”
“Yeah, this was a teaser for me, it got me starving for more,” Ferreyra added. “It would be sweet to do a 12 issue maxi-series. It’s always fun working with Ben, he makes the best butter and toasts for me to eat while drawing.”
Percy said that their short was “a self-contained story, but it’s also a potential prelude to a bigger narrative.”
