Marvel Comics X-Men line is in the midst of a rejuvenation similiar to their cosmic line a few years ago with Guardians of the Galaxy – now it appears the X-Men will be forming a beachhead on the cosmic side of things as well, which may mean big things for the Starjammers and the Shi’ar Imperial Guard.
Asked by Newsarama in a recent interview to name his favorite Marvel character or team that hasn‘t been appearing in any titles lately, Marvel Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski named those two groups.
“I’ll say Starjammers, even though Corsair is on the cover to October’s X-Men #1 with Jonathan Hickman and Leinil Yu,” Cebulski replied. “He’s a part of that book, but there’s some things out there that will be very cool for the cosmic side of the X-Men, as well as the Imperial Guard. We haven’t touched on those two groups yet, but someday…”
The Imperial Guard has appeared in Hickman’s Marvel work on several occasions – including the introduction of an all-new Smasher during his Avengers run.
