Scout Comics’ Solar Flare from writer James Haick III and artist Branko Jovanic is in development for television with John Baldecchi, producer of Happy Death Day.

Solar Flare, Scout’s longest running series, focuses on a group of survivors making a pilgrimage across the country in the wake of a solar flare that eliminates most modern technology. Though their goal is to reunite their families, their adventure may help restore the world that was lost.

“Knowing just how driven and passionate the team at Digital Riot Media is about putting out exciting and entertaining stories that the fans love, it makes me incredibly excited to have them leading the charge in developing Solar Flare for television,” said Haick in a statement.

“James has created a very exciting and emotional series that the Scout team loves presenting to our fans issue after issue,” added Scout CEO Brendan Deneen. “We look forward to working with Digital Riot Media to develop Solar Flare for the small screen.”

No release timeframe or network for the in-development series was announced.
