Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings actor Simu Liu is the Marvel Studios’ first Asian lead superhero. But hilariously enough, Liu is celebrating a different milestone – being the MCU’s first Canadian lead as well.
Liu appeared on The Beaverton – Canada’s answer to the satirical newspaper The Onion, with a commensurate TV show – to talk about Canadian pride.

Technically, Ant-Man and the Wasp actor Evangeline Lilly was the MCU’s first Canadian lead – but seeing as how she shared top billing, Liu still gets the first solo Canadian lead title.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is set for a February 12, 2021 theatrical release.
