Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema reportedly expect Wan to be able to film this horror movie relatively quickly in the fall of 2019, then move directly into pre-production on the Aquaman sequel in 2020. Wan is also attached to a spin-off film focused on the Trench.

The Aquaman sequel is set for release December 16, 2022.
