John Wick creator Derek Kolstad has joined the writing team of Disney+’s Falcon & Winter Soldier television series, according to The Wrap. Kolstad recently completed work on John Wick: Chapter 3- Parabellum, and is adapting the video game franchise Just Cause for Constantin.

Empire writer/producer Malcoln Spellman was reportedly attached as the showrunner back in October 2018.

The TV series is set to star Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, reprising thier roles from the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. The project – and its title – were announced prior to Avengers: Endgame, and the revelation that Falcon would take the mantle of Captain America – or at least his shield – from Steve Rogers. It is unknown if the project’s title will change to reflect that.

Kari Skogland is set to direct all six episodes of Falcon & Winter Soldier, which is reportedly aiming for a August 2020 debut.

Disney+ is scheduled to launch November 12.
