Jim Lee, Scott Williams, and Alex Sinclair have illustrated an epic and unique cross-company crossover image for Comic-Con International: San Diego’s 2019 Souvenir Book.
“The honor was mine getting to do this historic cover for the world’s preeminent pop culture event,” said Lee. “What an amazing 50 years!”
While Lee is most associated these days with DC given his status as the company’s Chief Creative Officer/co-Publisher, seeing him draw Marvel characters such as Spider-Man, Black Panther, and Captain America, along with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Hellboy, Spawn, and The Walking Dead‘s Michonne is very unique.
“Comic Con was the start of it for me and from my very first Con back in 1987, it’s been a huge part of my life,” Lee continued. “I’ve watched it transform the business and usher in a world I don’t think any comic book reader back in 1987 would ever have imagined to come to be.”
This year’s SDCC Souvenir Book will be free to all 2019 attendees (while supplies last). The convention is scheduled for July 18 through 21.
