New BLACK WIDOW Title Delves Into NATASHA’s Past

A new Black Widow series will delve into the spy/superhero’s past – and have Natasha fighting to stop someone from exploiting it. Writer Jody Houser and artist Stephen Mooney are set for The Web of Black Widow, a five-issue series scheduled to debut this September.

“A great introduction to new readers and an thrilling confirmation to fans in the know why Black Widow is one of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, the new series finds a mysterious figure exploiting the hero’s past. And in response, the Widow may have to go off the grid,” reads Marvel’s announcement. “Who can she trust in this web of deceit? And more importantly – can her friends trust her?”

This comes as Marvel Studios’ preps a standalone Black Widow film that will reportedly delve into the character’s past.
