20th Century Fox’s Dark Phoenix earned $5 million domestically in Thursday preview screenings, according to the Walt Disney Company (via Deadline). Universal’s The Secret Life of Pets 2, also opening this weekend, took in $2.3m domestically in its Thursday debut.
This is down from the last X-Men film, X-Men Apocalypse, which earned $8.2m in the same frame. Previous to that, Days of Future Past took in $8.1m in its Thursday previews.
