Sonic the Hedgehog director Jeff Fowler has announced that the film has been rescheduled for release February 14, 2020 – four months later than its previous November 8, 2019 date.

This comes three weeks after Fowler accepted criticism that had erupted about the design of the lead character in the film’s first trailer – particularly the eerily human teeth.
“Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear,” Fowler said May 2 on Twitter. “You aren’t happy with the design & you want changes. It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the best he can be….”
So Sonic the Hedgehog will be “the best he can be” by February 14, 2020 – but that new dates puts it at odds with several other major films: the third, as-yet-untitled Kingsman, and an unspecified live-action Disney film.
