Uncanny X-Men writer Matthew Rosenberg, Mr. and Mrs. X writer Kelly Thompson, and Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski have all weighed in on Jonathan Hickman’s announcement of the cancellation of the X-Men line ahead of Hickman’s House of X and Powers of X.
Rosenberg confirmed Uncanny X-Men #22 would be his final issue on the title, saying that the cancellation and relaunch have been in the cards all along.
When @Marvel brought myself, @edbrisson, & @79SemiFinalist to write UNCANNY X-MEN we knew that our time was limited and that @JHickman was coming in to blow minds within the year. I couldn’t be more proud of what we all did, and I couldn’t be more excited about what’s to come.

Meanwhile, Mr. and Mrs. X writer Kelly Thompson echoed Rosenberg’s statements, saying she was “lucky to be in the room” while the upcoming relaunch developed.

Marvel E-i-C Cebulski also weighed in on the relaunch, saying that every X-title from the previous “color” themed books through the most recent relaunch of Uncanny X-Men in November 2018 has been building to Hickman’s plans.
Yes, this has all been planned since last summer and we’re grateful for every creator who has worked on our X-titles since then, from X-Men Blue/Yellow/Red to Disassembled to Age of X to Major X to Uncanny. They have all been putting the pieces of the puzzle in place for HoX/PoX! https://t.co/lgvJQRnrS4
