Netflix has signed a deal with Dark Horse to produce streaming content based on Dark Horse properties.
Netflix tweeted news of the arrangement, described as a “first look” deal. No details of what shows or movies could be in development were included in the announcement.
Very happy to announce that Netflix has closed an overall deal with @DarkHorseComics! That means Netflix will have the first look at all Dark Horse titles for both film and TV projects and I’m really trying to keep my cool about it but YES YES YES

In 2015, Dark Horse signed a similar ‘overall’ deal with Universal Cable Productions (a subsidiary of NBCUniversal). As part of that, UCP negotiated Netflix’s acquisition of Umbrella Academy as a TV series, and also pitched adaptations of Concrete and Harrow County.
It’s unclear which of Dark Horse’s properties this would include, as some notable ones such as Mike Mignola’s Hellboy/B.P.R.D. titles are creator-owned.
