The latest trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home reveals the possibility that Mysterio is from another world, with Spider-Man even invoking the term “Multiverse.” And while that could be shocking, it’s not the first time the idea has come up in the MCU – not by a long shot.
Back in 2016’s Doctor Strange, the Ancient One mentions that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is “only one of an infinite number,” telling Strange he’s part of a “Multiverse” – but stops there. However in this video from February 2017 promoting the film’s release on home video, Strange actor Benedict Cumberbatch lays it out – including more of the building blocks for what could come in Spider-Man: Far From Home.
