Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel has opened overseas with $2.51 million in China, according to Deadline. Captain Marvel‘s pre-sales in the country were second only to Avengers: Infinity War in the superhero genre, but the $2.51m opening reportedly places it fourth behind Infinity War, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Captain America: Civil War.
The Hollywood trade projects the film to garner $60-$90m from the Middle Kingdom during its opening weekend.
Deadline goes on to estimate opening day box offices in Korea at $5.9m and France at $1.7m.
Captain Marvel opens in North America this afternoon, March 7.
