Declan Shalvey has revealed he is working on an unannounced Marvel limited series that is “one of those bucket-list projects” for the creator. On this week’s edition of his newsletter, the recent Return of Wolverine artist gave the project the codename “Project Abbey” and explained where he’s at in the process.

Project Abbey is a Marvel miniseries I’m currently drawing. No release date scheduled, but it’s a great project I’m really enjoying,” Shalvey wrote. “One of those bucket-list projects, really. I’m not writing, I’m doing the covers, title design, and interior art.”

Shalvey continued on about the project later in the email.

“Wrapping up some inks on Project Abbey, I did a chunk of covers recently that distracted me a little, but I’m firmly in sequential mode right now,” the artist continued. “Got the first set of colors back from Issue 1 and it’s looking really, really great. Working with a new colorist on this and that’s always a little scary, but really chuffed with how these pages are looking.”

Concurrent to this project, Shalvey is also writing two other codenamed projects – Project Cashel (for Image Comics) and Project Passenger (no publisher attached). He plans to resume drawing Injection following the completion of the earlier-mentioned Marvel limited series.
