Early tracking for Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel projects that the film could take in $100 million in its March 8 opening weekend, according to Deadline.
If so, the Brie Larson-led film would be only the third MCU solo/origin launch film to meet or exceed $100m domestically in its first weekend, after Iron Man ($102m) and Black Panther ($202m).
Black Panther was originally projected for a $100-$120m domestic opening weekend three weeks out, but positive buzz ratched up those tracking figures as it neared release.
