The revamped version has afforded many newcomers the chance to engage with the world of the Chrono franchise for the first time. As the remaster’s changes are predominantly cosmetic rather than narrative, playtimes haven’t been vastly affected by the move to a new generation of consoles. For those looking to revisit the series or are coming to the franchise for the first time, here’s how long Chrono Cross takes to beat for everyone from casual gamers to dedicated completionists.

How Long Does It Take To Beat Chrono Cross?

Chrono Cross‘ main story is broken into a series of Parts, with players able to keep track of their progress by how many they have completed. There are 29 Parts in total, packed with battles as well as a variety of errands and side-quests to complete. Making sure one explores every facet of these respective stages will give players the best chance of achieving full completion.

According to HowLongtoBeat, the average player will finish the main story in around 37 hours, with faster players managing to get things done in around 28 1/2 hours. Those looking to take a more leisurely approach tend to do so in approximately 53 1/2 hours. Players seeking to complete the main story plus extras like additional quests can expect to spend on average of around 44 hours with Chrono Cross, while faster operators can bring this down to around 30 hours.

These playtimes are, of course, coming from a variety of playthroughs and from a wide scope of consoles and platforms. These range from emulated copies to PlayStation 2 and PS Vita versions. Whatever the case, Chrono Cross will take a significant portion of time to beat regardless of one’s platform or playstyle.

How Long Does It Take To Complete Everything In Chrono Cross?

Beating Chrono Cross‘ story once won’t provide the full picture, though. The game has 12 total endings, though only two are available in the first playthrough; the other 10 require players to restart the game in New Game+. On top of that, the game has loads of playable characters, not all of which can be recruited in the same file. Because of this, completing everything Chrono Cross has to offer will have to play the full game at least twice, possibly using seperate save files to avoid too much backtracking.

According to Howlongtobeat, the average completionist time comes is 68 hours, while rushed players can get this down to 52 hours. Those taking their time can easily spend around 107 hours with Chrono Cross as they complete every main and side-quest, collect every key item and element, and obtain all final tech trees for each character. On top of that, completionists will need to find all the various unique techs the game has to offer, such as Flight of the Swallow, Call of the Void, and Lucca’s Legacy.

The world of Chrono Cross is extremely detailed. For a game originally released in 1999, Square Enix’s revolutionary title has so much to do and collect that one can easily lose hours in the company of its heroes. While the updated and ported remaster may be drawing criticism for its performance issues, fans of the JRPG genre have little excuse for not seeking out Chrono Cross in whichever form they can find it.

In Sonic the Hedgehog 2, the titular character, voiced by Ben Schwartz, was blindsided as he tried to carve a new path out as an immature vigilante. Sonic, despite being a kid, felt he could protect the city like Batman, but he didn’t realize Jim Carrey’s Doctor Robotnik would return looking for revenge. Robotnik also had Idris Elba’s Knuckles with him, ready to take the blue-quilled hero out and attain the Master Emerald to rule the cosmos.

However, the debacle got even more complicated for Sonic when a new enemy revealed itself on Earth. As much as he wanted to protect humanity, some humans still didn’t trust him after all the chaos in the first film, and it resulted in an uncomfortable twist that showed how far the authorities would go to stop him.

The twist occurred with Shemar Moore’s Randall at the wedding that Sonic’s adoptive parents, Tom and Maddie, attended in Hawaii. Randall was marrying Rachel, Maddie’s sister, who hated the havoc caused in the first film and especially blamed Tom for it. And the couple made it clear to Tom that they wanted nothing but peace on their wedding day, but that went away when Tom accidentally gave Randall one of Sonic’s teleportation rings.

Tom eventually punched Randall out during the vows to use the ring to bring Sonic in from the Siberian Alps, draping the matrimony with snow. However, after the commotion, Randall and nearly everyone else at the wedding whipped out guns, tazing Sonic and Tails and imprisoning his crew. As it turns out, Randall and Co. were all part of a new federal unit, G.U.N. (Guardian Units of Nations), meant to police alien activity, including folks like Sonic and Tails.

Of course, Rachel was furious because all the guests on Randall’s side, the wedding workers and even the priest were undercover, but she also found out the girl waxing her in the most personal, intimate spots had infiltrated the wedding, placing a horrific spin on the romance being nothing more than a sham. Now, the film was trying to be funny, but it could have just turned this marriage arc into a date early on in Randall and Rachel’s history — something a bit more innocent. Instead, Randall went deep undercover as Rachel’s husband-to-be in a disgusting act.

And to make matters worse, the bizarre sequence was forgotten and didn’t even have an effect on the finale outside of helping Maddie rescue Tom. Instead, Rachel remained in Hawaii and forgave Randall after he took a taser meant for her from his boss before making up with him. Ultimately, making Rachel quickly forget the lie sent the wrong message because it ignored her mental trauma from the bombshell and had her move on with someone she shouldn’t trust.

The returning rom-com anime Science Fell in Love continues to up the ante in Season 2, early in the Spring 2022 season. Episode 1 saw Ayame and Shinya meet their match against the lovestruck scientist couple Chris and Suiu, who easily outclassed the co-protagonists’ oxytocin levels during their experiments together.

Now in Episode 2, the stubborn kuudere Yukimura Shinya prepares himself for round two against this seemingly perfect scientist couple — but no matter what he does, he simply cannot match Chris and Suiu’s oxytocin levels. Like a true shonen hero, Shinya must get creative and find a solution as the series’ underdog.

Despite his clear disadvantage against Chris and Suiu, Shinya insists on more oxytocin tests, and everyone obliges. The young scientists even try different combinations of partners, but problems arise when Suiu comes on to Shinya too strongly — and Ayame becomes jealous of how Shinya keeps ogling her. This creates tension between them, and sure enough, that lowers their oxytocin levels even more. Ayame was even paired up with her platonic friend Kanade, who still had higher oxytocin levels with her than Shinya did.

Shinya suffers total defeat not just from the lab results, but also from Chris harshly calling him a fool who cannot recognize true love. Shinya feels outraged, but there is nothing he can say or do to defend himself in that argument — even when the generous Ayame steps in to shield him. Everyone calms down soon enough but Shinya, still panicking and embarrassed, insists on burning the midnight oil in the lab to find a solution to all this. He channels his shonen side like never before, and it’s exactly what he and Ayame need right now. His fortunes are soon reversed thanks to his hard work.

In true shonen fashion, Shinya confronts Chris and Suiu yet again — but this time he has a secret technique to win the battle, scientist-style. He and Ayame admit their oxytocin levels are inferior, but fortunately for them this is excusable. Shinya cites a study from Helen Fisher and others, stating that a typical romantic relationship has an initial phase defined by strong but unstable and often aggressive feelings, including yandere-style jealousy and temper tantrums.

After about three years the relationship will cool down and stabilize, and the two partners will have higher oxytocin levels when they are together. Shinya and Ayame are in that initial stage while Chris and Suiu are in the second, proving that it’s unfair to compare their oxytocin levels.

That, combined with the fact that there are other relevant hormones to study, allows Shinya and Ayame to finally land an intellectual blow on Chris and Suiu and keep them in the running as a potential romantic couple after all. Chris and Suiu, feeling equally surprised and impressed, both voice their support for the developing couple. In light of that, Science Fell in Love might soon revert back to its Kaguya-sama themed battle of wits narrative, unless another perfect couple or skeptic comes along to challenge Shinya’s and Ayame’s love once again. Shinya must be ready for anything and stay on his toes, just in case. He’s won his latest battle, but the war goes on.

Today, based on suggestions by Cory T. and Julian L., we look at how Kingpin’s sight was restored after briefly losing it.

After Kevin Smith relaunched Daredevil as part of the launch of Marvel Knights in 1998, he left the book and they didn’t have a regular writer to take over the title from him. At first, David Mack did an arc, with the art team of Joe Quesada and Jimmy Palmiotti remaining on board (with Mack providing certain artwork himself). The story arc was called, “Parts of a Hole,” and it introduced a new character named Maya Lopez, a deaf ballet dancer who has the ability to mimic anyone’s abilities (like the Taskmaster). She began to have a romantic relationship with Matt Murdock.

However, she also had a relationship with Wilson Fisk, who was a friend of her father’s. In Daredevil #10 (by Mack, Quesada and Palmiotti), the Kingpin convinces her that Daredevil was the man who murdered her father (in reality, it was Fisk himself who did it, which is why he has the gun that was used in the murder in his files. He tricks Daredevil into picking it up, which only helps sell the lie to Maya)…

So, she fights Daredevil a lot over the next few issues (over which time, Quesada eventually leaves the book and David Ross and Mark Morales finish out the arc, doing their best Quesada-esque style) but he eventually convinces her that he did not kill her dad. And if HE didn’t kill her dad, then that logically means that Kingpin was responsible for her dad’s death, and so she shoots Kingpin a number of times with the gun used to kill her dad…

In the end, we see that the Kingpin has survived, but he is now blind…

Eventually, Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev take over the series as the regular creative team (after a Bendis fill-in arc. I believe he had already gotten the ongoing gig before the fill-in arc came out, as the fill-in arc was arranged well in advance of it actually seeing print). In the first issue of their run, one of Kingpin’s soldiers, Silke, arranges a mutiny on the blind Kingpin, seemingly killing him…

The Kingpin somehow survives the assault and his estranged wife takes him out of the country and sets out to take apart Fisk’s empire, as it is now controlled by those who betrayed her husband. She even kills her own son (with Fisk) as he teamed up with Silke for this mutiny.

That was it for quite a while, until, of course, the Kingpin had to return…

In Daredevil #45 (by Bendis and Maleev), Silke (who worked out a deal with the government in exchange for protection from Fisk’s wife) is visited by Fisk, who murders him…

In the next issue, Fisk visits Typhoid Mary and breaks her out of the personality she has created for herself (a successful soap opera actress). When the scene begins, he is wearing sunglasses like he is still blind, but by the end of it, he has taken them off and it appears as though he can see again…

He gets revenge on his former consigliere for allowing his wife to take apart the Fisk organization, but while he mentions recuperation, he is vague on his eyesight…

Finally, though, in Daredevil #50, when he meets up again with Daredevil (Daredevil beats him nearly to death and claims that HE, Matt Murdock, is the NEW Kingpin of Crime – Matt was dealing with some issues at the time) and he reveals that he has reconstructive eye surgery…

Official HBO Max account Hero Mode recently tweeted a poster promoting Arc 5 of Young Justice: Phantoms, accompanied by the caption “New Gods and old friends, what could go wrong?” The poster confirms the show’s next five-episode arc will focus on Rocket, and feature Fourth World characters Orion, Metron and Mantis. It also teases the involvement of a member of the Green Lantern Corps (who resembles Tomar-Re) and Phantom‘s as-yet-unnamed, time-traveling antagonist.

Young Justice co-showrunners Greg Weisman and Brandon Vietti recently explained why Phantoms takes a character-driven approach to arcs, and how they settle on the order the arcs appear in. “We felt it was time — after two seasons where the plot drove most of our choices — to get back to the core characters of our series and see where each one was in their lives, a decade after we first met them,” Weisman said. “In terms of the order of the arcs, the decision there was a combination of the overarching plot of the season and a desire to mix things up so that no two arcs in a row felt too similar.”

Weisman and Vietti also elaborated on the time jumps between each season of Young Justice. Weisman described the time jump mechanic as the best way to reflect the show’s underlying theme of growing up. Vietti added that time jumps were also a useful tool for injecting a bit of mystery into the start of each season. “We know our audience will want to know what happened between seasons and we can tease out the highlights over the course of a new season,” he said.

Shifting their focus to the wider franchise, the pair revealed the DC characters that were off-limits for Young Justice Season 1. According to Weisman and Vietti, Darkseid, the Donna Troy and Cassie Sandsmark incarnations of Wonder Girl, and the Ted Kord version of Blue Beetle were all embargoed when the first season was being developed. The showrunner duo also shared the significance of the number 16 to the series, with Vietti confirming Young Justice takes place on Earth-16 of the DC Multiverse.

Young Justice Season 4 – Part 2 is currently streaming on HBO Max, with new episodes released on Thursdays.

Naruto‘s “Chunin Exams” tournament arc played host to some of the most brutal battles in anime, not the least of which was the showdown between the series’ female lead Haruno Sakura and her rival Yamanaka Ino. Sakura and Ino had competed fiercely with one another — particularly for the affections of Uchiha Sasuke — throughout the series. As such, it was only natural that the two should meet in a head-to-head battle in the preliminary rounds of the Chunin Exams tournament.

Fought over the course of episodes 41 and 42 of Season 1, the match between Ino and Sakura proved to be one of Naruto‘s most gripping. Not only did it reveal more of Sakura and Ino’s shared complex history, but it also represented a pivotal moment in Sakura’s development.

During the match, Ino attempted to use her signature Mind Transfer Jutsu against Sakura. The Mind Transfer Jutsu is a technique that allows the caster to occupy and control the body of an opponent. Ino’s plan was to use the technique to take over Sakura’s body and force her to concede the match. However, Sakura overcame the allegedly unbreakable technique and went on to battle Ino to a draw.

How was it that Sakura overpowered the Mind Transfer Jutsu? After all, the technique worked well enough in Episode 24, when Ino used it to review and copy Sakura’s answers to the written exam, as well as against the formidable Sound ninja Kin Tsuchi in the Forest of Death. Is it possible that Naruto’s sideline encouragement empowered Sakura, or is shonen anime plot armor to thank for coming to Sakura’s rescue?

It’s true that Sakura acknowledges and appreciates Naruto for his words of support in the episode immediately following her bout with Ino. That said, Sakura’s victory over Ino’s Mind Transfer technique is thanks to her own strength.

As she attempted to take over Sakura’s body, Ino was overpowered by Sakura’s hidden inner self. This “Inner Sakura” (very vocally) represents Sakura’s truest feelings. In the earlier episodes of Naruto, “Inner Sakura” frequently appears as a running gag, forcefully expressing feelings completely contrary to those Sakura has just displayed, punctuated by her catchphrase “Cha!” Indeed, by virtue of her being completely internalized, it would seem that Sakura was somewhat ashamed — even embarrassed — by this “Inner Sakura.”

While “Inner Sakura’s” appearance may seem like a well-placed throwback to the earliest Naruto episodes — or worse, comically-employed plot armor — it’s a moment that signifies the cumulative fruition of Sakura’s character growth throughout the narrative.

By utilizing a facet of her personality that may once have been thought of as a shortcoming, Sakura displayed remarkable personal strength. Rather than squash or ignore her inner self — the literal voice of her most authentic emotions– Sakura embraced it, and in so doing became stronger physically and psychologically.

Indeed, Sakura is the character who displayed the most significant development throughout the “Chunin Exams” arc. Of the core cast, Sakura was the one who recognized and confronted her intrinsic flaws the most successfully. Consequently — and even though their fight is ruled a draw — Sakura’s remarkable growth is on full display in her defeat of Ino’s powerful Mind-Transfer Jutsu.

Who Is Shelob in The Lord of the Rings?

Shelob was a half-spider, half-demon that took on the form of an arachnid and lived for hundreds of years. Eventually, she took up residence in Mordor near Cirith Ungol, where she would feed on any human or creature that dwelled into her den. Rather than remove her, Sauron felt she was a benefit to protecting his kingdom and even jokingly called her his cat. Sauron often gifted her prisoners to feed on, and Shelob would paralyze her prey with her stinger and cocoon them. She was known to have kept them alive for some time before she decided to feed on them.

When Frodo and Sam were led to her lair by Gollum, they were unaware that he had orchestrated a double-cross to get ahold of his coveted ring. Although he tried to defend himself, Frodo was eventually stung by Shelob and was left paralyzed and cocooned. However, Sam quickly came to his aid and used Frodo’s sword, Sting and the Phial of Galadriel to fend off the spider and eventually deliver a considerable enough wound to ward her off. Among all of the perils the two Hobbits endured to destroy the One Ring, their battle against Shelob was likely the most harrowing for her size alone.

Who Is Aragog in Harry Potter?

Unlike Shelob, Acromantula in Harry Potter was deadlier in a different sense. Rather than operate as a traditional spider would, this species of spider operated as a colony, with the eldest male and female acting as their leaders. They could also house human speech to communicate with other living organisms like humans. However, they also had a taste for human flesh and even their own, as they would feed on the carcasses of their fallen brethren. Like Shelob, these spiders also grew to massive sizes but differed in terms of relationships.

Hagrid raised Aragog from when he was still in an egg before he was set free and took refuge in the Forbidden Forest. Because of the kindness that Hagrid showed, Aragog treated him as a friend and could keep his entire colony at bay even though his children desired to eat Hagrid. Sadly, the kindness he showed to his caregiver didn’t extend to those that were friends with Hagrid, as Harry and Ron were nearly killed by Aragog’s children in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Nevertheless, the two managed to escape, and the massive spider was later seen after it had passed away in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

Shelob vs. Aragog: Who Is the Bigger Spider?

While the likely conclusion for who would be the bigger spider is Shelob due to her speed and proportions, the true largest spider is actually Aragog, but only by a small amount. It’s explained that Shelob’s size was roughly eight feet in length and seventeen feet across, which is by no stretch a small spider. However, Aragog is explained to be roughly the size of a small elephant with an eighteen-foot leg span. Small elephants can reach roughly 9′-10′, making Aragog the de facto winner, even if only by a foot. Although Aragog just barely won, there’s no contest that these massive arachnids are equally terrifying and deadly. Ultimately, whether a foot larger or smaller, encountering either of tthem is a bad idea.

Superman & Lois Season 2 has challenged the eponymous couple from all sides, as sinister cult leader Ally Allston has targeted Lois Lane’s journalistic integrity while siding with rogue U.S. Army General Mitch Anderson against Superman himself. Through this gauntlet, Superman and his friend John Henry Irons faced off against the supervillain Bizarro before the Man of Steel got trapped in Bizarro’s inverted world for a full month. And as the Kent family is overwhelmed by the sheer amount of super-powered peril, the glaring lack of Kal-El’s cousin Supergirl is becoming increasingly and distractingly noticeable.

In the midst of Superman being stuck in Bizarro World, the Arrowverse is ravaged by a string of disasters, prompting Steel to step up and defend the world as best as he can in the Man of Tomorrow’s absence. In the face of a world without Superman, Lois and Clark’s super-powered son Jordan has also embarked on a fledgling superhero career of his own, albeit while enduring understandable concern from Lois. But with the Arrowverse suffering as Superman remains missing, the lack of other Arrowverse heroes helping out feels glaringly questionable, especially the visible lack of Supergirl being even referenced.

When Supergirl ended, Kara Zor-El was still very much a superhero, even going as far as to publicly reveal her secret identity to the world so she could live a more fulfilling life rather than trying to maintain the long-running deception. However, since the Supergirl series finale, Kara has been completely absent from the Arrowverse, with Alex Danvers as the sole Supergirl character appearing in the recent crossover event “Armageddon.” There hasn’t even been a mention of Kara yet on Superman & Lois, which is strange given her familial connection to Kal and Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman making his debut in the Supergirl Season 2 premiere.

Superman & Lois has displayed some tenuous links to the wider Arrowverse, though these references have currently been few and far between. Arrow character John Diggle visited the Kent family in Smallville during Season 1, while Clark has made passing allusions to his friendship with Barry Allen before. Over on The Flash, the Justice League headquarters still has a spot at its council table marked for Superman, while Barry has similarly referenced knowing Clark. And yet, beyond this, the once tightly cohesive Arrowverse has Superman & Lois as something of an outlier, separated from its counterparts.

With allusions like these, Supergirl herself wouldn’t even have to make a physical appearance on Superman & Lois to account for the discrepancy during Superman’s absence. A passing line of dialogue from a news broadcast or offhand comment mentioning what Kara has been doing in the interim would be a relatively simple way of resolving this glaring void. Instead, the continued lack of even the smallest acknowledgment of Supergirl’s existence is a puzzling one for Arrowverse fans.

Superman & Lois has put its heroes through the wringer, with even the Man of Steel needing some backup to help him save the day. Though Steel’s inclusion is certainly a welcome one, Clark has an entire team of friends to contact if he needs reinforcements, including his own cousin. While Superman & Lois has taken advantage of being largely isolated from the wider Arrowverse to develop its own voice, it’s high time that the show starts to recognize that it’s in a shared universe, with Supergirl as a prominent force within it.

A fan recently reached out to Gunn on Twitter to ask if there was any chance that Stakar Ogord’s Ravager crew, which is made up of the original 1969 Guardians roster from the comics, will appear again. Gunn responded “You never know” — keeping hopes alive that this version of the team will show up in either Guardians 3 or The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.

The filmmaker previously teased the inclusion of several “wonderful” cameos in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 that would make “true Guardians fans” happy. This cryptic comment sparked intense speculation, with some fans convinced that Gunn was referring to Stakar’s crew/the original Guardians. This remains pure conjecture at this stage as actors Michelle Yeoh, Ving Rhames, Miley Cyrus and Michael Rosenbaum are not officially attached to the production.

Gunn has also hinted at the involvement of a mystery Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 actor “who people don’t know is in the movie,” fueling even more rumors about the film’s cast. The speculation among fans is that this unnamed performer is a big-name star, such as Kevin Bacon. The Footloose star was reportedly sighted on the set of The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, which is filming concurrently with Guardians 3, meaning he could be shooting scenes for both projects. Like the rumors concerning Stakar’s Ravagers, Bacon’s involvement in either Guardians 3 or the holiday special has yet to be confirmed by Marvel Studios.

One actor who is confirmed to appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is Will Poulter, who makes his MCU debut as Adam Warlock. Poulter recently opened up about how the physical preparation required to transform him into Warlock has impacted his life. “It’s been a lot of gym work and a very, very specific diet… The whole social side of your life has to take a back seat,” he said. “I’m in a routine that is so rigid that being able to go out for dinner with friends is not something I’ve been able to do.”

Poulter also confirmed he won’t take a method approach to playing Warlock — or any other role. “For me, that hasn’t been necessary,” Poulter said, before explaining that he has no issue with other actors going method, so long as it doesn’t create “an inhospitable environment” on the set.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 premieres in theaters on May 5, 2023.

In an interview with Empire, Amanat said she felt that Vellani was a perfect fit for Kamala Khan as soon as she saw how much of a Marvel fangirl the actor was during her Zoom audition. “She showed me every corner of her room, and it was covered with Avengers,” Amanat said. “Then she said, ‘Oh wait, I’m not done,’ opened up her closet, and there was more Marvel everywhere.”

Amanat reiterated that Vellani’s bubbly personality and wide-eyed enthusiasm were a clear fit for Kamala Khan, who is not “your traditional Avenger,” especially when it comes to her love for Earth’s mightiest heroes. “She’s not as slick and suave as some superheroes. It’s not like when Captain America throws his shield and it comes back,” Amanat explained. “She’s all over the place. I’m excited for people to get to know her.”

Disney+’s Ms. Marvel follows Kamala Khan, a 16-year-old Pakistani-American high school student who dreams of one day fighting alongside the Avengers, especially her idol Captain Marvel. Kamala suddenly finds her superhero fan fiction brought to life when she obtains the power to wield cosmic energy and make constructs from a set of magical bangles. Thus begins an action-packed adventure as Kamala navigates her unexpected new abilities, as well as her struggles in fitting in at her school and home.

Created by Amanat, Stephen Wacker, G. Willow Wilson, Adrian Alphona and Jamie McKelvie, Ms. Marvel/Kamala Khan debuted in Marvel Comics in 2012. Like the comics, Disney+’s Ms. Marvel series is notably the first entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to feature a Muslim superhero. It will also be the first MCU project to have a TV-PG rating.

However, some fans have been left concerned at the apparent change in Kamala’s powers and backstory in the series. In the comics, Kamala famously has the power to stretch her limbs to impossible lengths and to shrink or enlarge herself, much like Ant-Man. She even has the ability to shapeshift into other individuals or inanimate objects, though she seldom uses these powers. There has been wide speculation from fans surrounding this alteration, with some theorizing that the change was made due to her powers being similar to Mr. Fantastic’s iconic elasticity. Others have noted that Kamala’s polymorph powers are essential to her story, as they reflect her desire to fit into a society she feels does not accept her.

Ms. Marvel will premiere on Disney+ on June 8.
