The second live action film adapted from Sorachi Hideaki’s hit Weekly Shonen Jump manga, Gintama 2 premiered on Aug. 17, roughly a year after the first movie proved to be a hit among fans and at the box office. Audience numbers for both movies now stand at 4.85 million.
Fans will also have the opportunity to watch the movie with a commentary track featuring lead actors Oguri Shun, Suda Masaki and Hashimoto Kanna, as well as director Fukuda Yuichi via the UDCast app until Oct. 18. Some cinemas will also be offering special supporters screenings on Fridays from Sept. 7, where fans are encouraged to indulge their love of the franchise.
