The main quest of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands takes players all over a chaotic world brought into being by a 13-year-old girl who loves explosions. From the rainbow-spewing castle of Brighthoof to the source of soul energy itself, the Fearamid, players will explore harsh deserts, barren oceans, and undead cemeteries in their quest to save Queen Butt Stallion and slay the evil Dragon Lord. Howeer, players who focus solely on the main quest and forego side-quests will miss out on lots of lore, loot, and laughs hidden throughout the game.
Scattered around the Wonderlands‘ overworld map are several areas the main quest never touches, like Mount Craw and Crackmast Cove. Though these areas will not take players closer to Wonderlands‘ Big Bad, they will provide plenty of much-needed experience and some of the best gear in the game. Players should take a detour from the main quest when possible to grab more powerful loot and to see some iconic members of the Borderlands‘ universe make a cameo appearance.
“The Forced Oppression Of Goblins” Subverts DnD Tropes
This quest’s description reads, “Fly the flag of revolution, save the goblins, and piss off a maybe-god. It’s the right thing to do.” Jar, an ambitious and forward-thinking goblin in Mount Craw, seeks the aid of the Fatemaker in freeing their brothers and sisters from enslavement. Mount Craw holds several side quests for players looking to add a few levels to their character, and all are centered around aiding the misjudged goblins to gain lives of independence.
The quest is a wild subversion of Dungeons & Dragons‘ typical portrayal of goblins, mainly by having players help them instead of killing them. Players even slay a “god” for the finale. There aren’t just goblins to free and side-quests to complete in Mount Craw; there are also plenty of hidden chests, pop culture Easter eggs, and lots of floating d20s.
Tiny Tina Players Defend Crooked-Eye Phil As His Pirate Attorney
In “The Trial of Crooked-Eye Phil,” players will meet a man (who prefers to just be called Phil) on trial because “some jerk pirates think he’s super evil just because he sounds super evil” and serve as his lawyer. Being a pirate lawyer is very easy — it just requires players to kill lots of enemies and say “Arg” every so often.
This quest takes players all over Crackmast Cove as they search for a Certificate of Non-Evilness, destroy some voodoo totems, and plead Phil’s case to Judge Boil. With plenty of laughs, pirate jokes, and fantastic voice-acting, helping Phil is some of the most fun players will have in Wonderlands‘ mid-game. The quest reward is an assault rifle, Mistrial of the Gull, and the achievement, “You, Esquire.” Mistrial of the Gull is a special assault rifle with extra buffs and enchantments that is sure to carry players several levels.
Players Help a Father & Son In Tiny Tina’s Pinocchio Parody
This side-quest deviates from the usual Wonderlands recipe by going dark and emotional with almost zero laughs. “Help Otto recover his memories and discover the truth about his curse,” the quest description reads, and that’s exactly what players must do. They’ll meet a confused old man on the beach in Crackmast Cove and help him recover his memory — which it turns out has been forcibly taken from him over and over again for the past 40 years.
Players will help Otto on a quest to save his son, who has obvious echoes of Pinocchio running through him. This quest comes with a heavy dose of lore and world-building and allows players to act as a Lawful-Good hero for once. The quest even ends with players entering a giant whale, discovering the “blue fairy,” and turning a puppet into a real boy.
Players Help The Punchfather Spill The Beans
Another side-quest that should not be overlooked, “Walk the Stalk” is an adventure in the dangerous Tangledrift that has players team up with the punch-happy Fairy Punchfather to save a town from a cursed beanstalk. The quest starts off on the overworld map and has players assist a magical, talking bean
Once players help him, they’ll be contacted by the Fairy Punchfather, who is really Brick from the Borderlands series, and join forces to help save the denizens of Tangledrift from violent and murderous mushrooms. Players who see the Fairy Punchfather’s quest to the end will be rewarded with the Ironsides sniper rifle and the “Parasites Lost” achievement.
Tangledrift is another area in Wonderlands that draws players in with a large side-quest only to throw plenty more at them while they explore the area. Players will find several levels worth of experience, at least four other side-quests, and plenty of hidden loot nestled around the sky-high platforms of Tangledrift.
Tina Tina’s Hilarious Witcher Parody Has Players Team Up With Gerrit of Trivia
A hilarious parody of The Witcher‘s main character, Geralt of Rivia, Gerrit of Trivia needs the player’s help in saving the world from the clutches of the evil goddess, Salissa. Located in the Sunfang Oasis, the Ditcher quest has players resurrecting a dead goddess just to kill her again. Gerrit is a busy Ditcher, making potions and killing monsters and bedding witches, so he requires the Fatemaker’s help in preventing the end of the world.
Players who defeat “The Ditcher” side-quest will kill yet another “god,” but this time they’ll get to keep her weapon, a powerful bident. Players will also be awarded the “So Much For That Guy” achievement upon beating the quest. Sunfang Oasis is one of the last optional areas in the game, with an obelisk and several side-quests located within.
