Marvel’s Avengers Suits Up With Iron Man Infinity War Skin

Much to the excitement of fans, Marvel’s Avengers finally announced the release of an Iron Man skin based on his appearance in Avengers: Infinity War.

Today, Crystal Dynamics revealed the new skin via its official Marvel’s Avengers Twitter page. “Inspired by the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Iron Man’s Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War Outfit shows a man facing off against the harbingers of cosmic cataclysm,” read the announcement, displaying an artistic rendering of the new suit. The Infinity War skin became available as of April 7 in the Marketplace.

Tony Stark’s Iron Man has worn many suits over the years, from designer to gold-titanium alloy to nanotech, but arguably none have been quite as popular as featured in Avengers: Infinity War. After the release of 2008’s Iron Man, the relatively obscure Marvel hero catapulted to becoming one of the most popular characters in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, in large part thanks to Robert Downey Jr.’s portrayal of the complex genius, billionaire, playboy philanthropist.

The new suit comes at something of a particularly rough patch for Marvel’s Avengers, though it’s been troubled from the start. A delay in Patch 2.3 and a long stretch without new content left players wanting to abandon Marvel’s Avengers altogether. Once the patch was finally released, players discovered more trouble as many PlayStation 5 users could not access their games. Exacerbation grew when Crystal Dynamics’s solution involved resetting Marvel’s Avengers campaign progress, which many fans pointed out seemed counterproductive for those wanting to play the game to finish the campaign.

However, not everything is ill tidings for the superhero game. Senior Brand Manager Nick Edwards promised more content for Marvel’s Avengers this year, though he did not dive into specifics. Most of the recent good news comes in the form of new characters. Since last year, rumors have circled of She-Hulk joining Marvel’s Avengers ranks, with Krizia Bajos voicing. This has been seemingly pushed back in favor of releasing She-Hulk alongside her eponymous series on Disney +. Instead, it is now reported players can expect to see Jane Foster’s Thor join Marvel’s Avengers in time for her debut in Thor: Love and Thunder.

For players interested in catching all the new content, Marvel’s Avengers is currently available to play on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
