The highly anticipated Blu-ray release of Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: No Way Home in the UK failed to include any of the film’s deleted scenes.
As reported by Chatter Box Film, deleted or extended scenes from the newest Spider-Man movie are nowhere to be seen amidst the 82 minutes and 12 seconds of extras included in the film’s UK Blu-ray release, which dropped on April 4. This is despite reports from February 2022 that five deleted scenes titled “Interrogation Scene Extended,” “Peter Day at Midtown High,” “Undercroft Montage,” “Happy’s Very Good Lawyer” and “The Spideys Hang Out” would be included in the physical release of the movie.
However, while the deleted scenes would have added 15 minutes of new content to the UK’s Blu-ray release of No Way Home, the disc will still include the film’s bloopers and the gag reel, as well as a few featurettes detailing the process of creating the film, titled “Action Choreography Across the Multiverse” and “A Spectacular Spider-Journey with Tom Holland.”
Whether the deleted scenes will also be excluded from the US physical release on April 12 is unclear. However, it’s been reported that the 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray release of No Way Home will feature additional content like a blooper reel, behind-the-scenes featurettes, panels featuring the cast, and over 90 minutes of bonus content, which include the deleted and extended scenes.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is one of Marvel Studios’ most successful movies to date. Since its release in theaters, No Way Home has been a massive box office success, becoming the sixth-highest-grossing film of all time and earning $1.889 billion at the worldwide box office. The film follows Tom Holland’s Peter Parker as he enlists the help of the former Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), to cast a spell that erases everyone’s memories of his secret identity, which was revealed during Spider-Man: Far From Home. Doctor Strange’s magic has some unexpected consequences, however, when the multiverse is ripped open and various villains from alternate realities threaten Peter’s universe.
Marvel Studios exhibited extreme secrecy surrounding Spider-Man: No Way Home ahead of its release, inviting intense speculation from fans. Perhaps the biggest secret of all was Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire returning as their respective Spider-Men from the Marc Webb and Sam Raimi Spider-Man films, with the two actors vehemently denying theories of their return right up until Spider-Man: No Way Home hit theaters.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is available for digital purchase on platforms such as Amazon, Google Play and Apple. It will be released on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD April 12.
