The Walking Dead Is About To Expose the Miltons | CBR

WARNING: The following contains spoilers for The Walking Dead Season 11, Episode 15, “Trust,” which aired Sunday, April 3 on AMC.

The Walking Dead‘s Commonwealth better watch their back, because now they’ve got Connie the journalist digging into their messiest secrets. In Season 11, Episode 15, “Trust,” Eugene and Rosita recruit Connie and Kelly to uncover the truth about the Commonwealth’s dynasty: the regal Pamela Milton and her obnoxious propagandist Sebastian Milton. This will not end well.

Unlike other Walking Dead enemies, the Miltons are pushing a different conflict towards the Alexandrians: inequality. Yes, Negan had his fair share of class issues in his Saviors’ system, but it wasn’t the foundation of what led Rick to ruffle Negan’s feathers. The Commonwealth’s power family aren’t necessarily bad guys (although an argument could definitely be made for Sebastian), they’re just horrendously ignorant of the dysfunction that their new world is facing. While Pamela and Sebastian’s biggest worries are red wine and some extra cash, some people can’t even afford to bring their baby to the doctor. The only way Ezekiel was even able to get his surgery was because Carol bribed Lance by doing a few freelance jobs.

That’s the crux of the Commonwealth — it masks itself as hope in the new world, but resembles the ugly of the old world. But The Walking Dead‘s group is too smart to be swept up in all of its glory. Connie can see right through the Commonwealth’s prestige presentation, and is set on exposing another Milton just like she did pre-apocalypse. And now that she has Rosita and Eugene on her side, she has the power to write the story that marks the beginning of the Commonwealth’s Resistance.

After being forced into Sebastian’s elaborate scheme to retrieve money from a mansion (and has also killed dozens of other people), Rosita decides to take matters into her own hands and reveals the truth to Connie. For Connie, the pieces start coming together. Early on in Season 11B, Connie interrogated Mercer relentlessly about the situation with Tyler, who mysteriously went missing after advocating for equality in the Commonwealth. While Mercer stands his ground and protects his leader, he doesn’t disagree with her. Connie then receives a list of about 70 names, the last of which is Tyler’s. After the events from “The Rotten Core,” it’s implied that these are the victims of Sebastian’s mission, as Rosita recognizes the name of the woman who was trapped inside the mansion.

Someone else who is trying to make sense of the situation is Carol, who has Lance wrapped around her finger while she plays up the helpful servant role. Lance has previously told Carol that he’s practically orchestrated this entire ordeal, but claims that the people who were chosen to carry out the mission weren’t following the Commonwealth’s rules. In “Trust,” Carol sees the true disorder the Commonwealth allows. There’s a hidden clinic in the Commonwealth zoo, where people who can’t afford healthcare go as a last resort. Carol has seen and heard enough, and she may be coming up with her own plan to to enact vengeance against the Miltons.

However The Walking Dead decides to approach these scandals, they’ll sure find a way for Pamela and Sebastian’s greedy hands to be tied after Rosita’s allies are done with them. Eugene even has Max (previously known as “the real Stephanie”) to steal confidential files on the matter, and she has turned to her reluctant brother for help. The resistance is approaching faster than expected in The Walking Dead, and it’ll become a reality once the dirty lies of Pamela and Sebastian are layed bare to the Commonwealth’s people.

To see Rosita and the gang get closer to the truth, watch The Walking Dead Season 11, Episode 15 on AMC+. The Walking Dead’s Season 11B finale airs next Sunday at 9 pm ET, and is available to stream a week early on AMC+.
