Universal Pictures has unveiled a new, international poster for Jurassic World Dominion, which puts the focus squarely on the velociraptor Blue and her offspring.
The poster, which features the Chinese logo for the Jurassic World threequel, features Blue in the foreground and her daughter, Beta, in the midground. Beta bears a very strong resemblance to Blue — a fact that has led to speculation that the young raptor is actually a genetic clone of her “mother.”
Blue first appeared in 2015’s Jurassic World. She was the sister Delta, Echo and Charlie, with the four raptors being trained by Owen Grady. Despite being described as the “beta” of the pack, Blue ended up being the only one of the four dinos to survive the fall of Jurassic World. Blue subsequently appeared in the 2018 sequel Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and is due for yet another outing in Dominion. She has also been featured in the animated spinoff series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.
Dominion is set four years after the destruction of Isla Nublar in Fallen Kingdom. “Dinosaurs now live — and hunt — alongside humans all over the world,” an official synopsis for Dominion reads. “This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine, once and for all, whether human beings are to remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history’s most fearsome creatures.”
Set for release on Friday, June 10, Dominion serves as the third film in the Jurassic World saga. The first Jurassic World film from 2015 was itself the fourth entry in the Jurassic Park film franchise, serving as both a sequel and a soft reboot. The franchise originally began with 1993’s Jurassic Park, continuing with 1997’s The Lost World: Jurassic Park and 2001’s Jurassic Park III.
Dominion sees Jurassic World series mainstays Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard reprise their roles as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing, respectively. Meanwhile, original Jurassic Park star Jeff Goldblum returns as Dr. Ian Malcom, having previously reprised the role for a small appearance in Fallen Kingdom. Additionally, fellow Jurassic Park originals Sam Neill and Laura Dern reprise their respective roles of Dr. Alan Grant and Dr. Ellie Sattler for the first time since Jurassic Park III.
See Blue and Beta in action when Jurassic World Dominion hits theaters on June 10.
