From enacting vengeance on the wicked of LA to taking care of his brother Gabe, Robbie Reyes puts everything he has into doing what’s right. Created by Felipe Smith and Tradd Moore, this version of Ghost Rider has made a name for himself in the Marvel Universe with his unique take on the Spirit of Vengence, and his Mexican heritage lands him a place in Marvel Voices: Comunidades. In this book, Robbie stars in two stories: the first is about making tortillas from scratch with Gabe, and the other involves Robbie taking Gabe to an appointment and teaching a lesson to some bullies along the way.
9 Spider-Girl Stands Up For Immigrants In New York
After a spider cult imbued her with the abilities of a spider, Anya Corazon hit the superhero scene with pride and a strong sense of justice. Originally, she took the name Araña but later changed it to Spider-Girl after she was mistakenly called it several times.
Created by Joe Quesada, Fiona Avery, and Mark Brooks in 2004, Anya has served alongside many Marvel heroes on teams like the Young Allies and Avengers Academy as well as no small amount of team-ups with other spider-people. In Marvel Voices: Comunidades, when a rally for immigrants’ rights is going on in New York, Spider-Girl jumps at the chance to stand by other immigrant families.
8 Make Way For Reptil, The Prehistoric Powerhouse
Fans of the old Super Hero Squad animated series will remember the Mexican-American teen with the power to turn into dinosaurs. Humberto Lopez, AKA Reptil, made his comic book debut in Avengers: The Initiative Featuring Reptil #1 and since then has become well known for his time in Avengers Academy. Created by Christo Gage, Steve Uy, and Humberto Ramos, Reptil has captured fans with his awesome power and heartfelt stories concerning his family. In this story, the audience watches as Humberto haphazardly makes tamales while being pestered by a stray cat, showing how he’s been working on controlling his anger and still has a long way to go.
7 Eva Quintero Learns To Control Her Magic At Strange Academy
As the young cousin of Reptil, Eva has always been excited to have a superhero in the family. Humberto’s actions inspired Eva to study sorcery, allowing her to create portals and command symbols for different magical effects. In Marvel Voices: Comunidades, Eva is the first character the audience is introduced to as she leaves home for Strange Academy: a school run by Dr. Strange to help the magically able learn and control their talents. There, the young sorceress runs into a fellow student named Germãn Aguilar, who shows her around town before her first day officially begins.
6 As Powerful As She Is, America Chaves Finds Strength In Getting Help From Others
America Chaves is known for her physical strength and ability to punch star-shaped portals into alternate dimensions, but that doesn’t mean she can do everything alone. Even with all her power and success as a hero, the interdimensional brawler makes her fair share of mistakes, and fans get to see how that weighs on America in Marvel Voices: Comunidades. Desperate to find her long-lost sister, America enlists the help of Amadeus Cho and his technical know-how to get the answers she needs. Marvel fans can look forward to seeing America learn to let others in and figure out that she doesn’t have to fight alone anymore.
5 The White Tigers Hold A Strong Sense Of Family And Community
The White Tiger is a mantle that’s been passed down to many heroes over the years, starting with Hector Ayala, and now owned by Hector’s younger sister Ava Ayala. Created by Bill Mantlo and George Pérez, this Puerto Rican superhero was the first of his kind, debuting in Deadly Hands Of Kung Fu #19 as Marvel’s first Latino superhero.
In this story, Hector and Ava take on different disasters, Hector dealing with a monster with the help of the Young Lords during the Trash Offensive of 1969 (a real historical event, look it up!) and Ava providing aid in Puerto Rico after an earthquake decimates the country.
4 Risque Takes A Risk For Krakoa On Another World
Like many of Marvel’s magnificent mutants, Gloria Delores Muñoz, AKA Risque, has fought tooth and nail for her people ever since her introduction in 1996’s X-Force #51. With the power to implode inorganic matter and use telekinesis, the Cuban/Seminole femme fatale is explosively armed to deal with any situation. While her time fighting for mutant kind with X-Force and X-Corporation eventually led to her death, Risque is back thanks to Krakoan resurrection and is using her talents to once again help her people, this time with S.W.O.R.D. Readers can watch Risque travel to another world in search of a future mutant colony in Marvel Voices: Comunidades, determined not to repeat humanity’s mistakes.

1 Spider-Man Stands Proudly Beside All Of His Communities
Ever since his debut in Marvel’s Ultimate universe, Miles Morales has been a compelling addition to Spider-Man’s legacy. This Spider-Man stands out from the rest with his invisibility, venom blasts, and motivations, but still shares at least one important quality with the others: a deep sense of responsibility. While Miles is largely known for being a popular Black superhero, many fans can forget about his equally important Puerto Rican heritage. In Marvel Voices: Comunidades, Spider-Man struggles to find a way to show his support for all parts of his identity while maintaining his secret identity, although Black Panther is happy to lend him a hand in that regard.
