10 DC Villains Who Could Beat Galactus On Their Own | CBR

Galactus is one of the most dangerous beings in the Marvel Universe. He’s existed since before the current incarnation of the universe and has devoured countless worlds. Calling him a villain is a little much; he’s more like a sentient force of destruction, an integral part of the universe. There is little malice in what Galactus does, as he’s merely trying to survive and enforce the cosmic balance.

While he’s been stopped, it’s rare that someone has been able to do it. DC‘s villains are often just as powerful as their heroes, making them very formidable antagonists. The most potent DC villains would be able to do something that many think is impossible and defeat Galactus on their own.

10 Alexander Luthor’s Intellect And Anti-Matter Powers Would End Galactus

Alexander Luthor Jr

Alexander Luthor was one of the heroes of the original Crisis On Infinite Earths, crucial to the defeat of the Anti-Monitor. Composed of matter and anti-matter, Luthor was more powerful than most imagined and one of the most intelligent people in the Multiverse. He and Superboy-Prime almost succeeded in recreating the Multiverse in their own image when they returned in Infinite Crisis, only defeated by the heroes’ greater numbers.

The key to beating Galactus has always been coming up with a plan and sticking to it, something Luthor was great at. Beyond that, Luthor could unleash an anti-matter attack against Galactus that would cause a reaction to destroy the World Devourer.

9 The Batman Who Laughs’ Final Form Would Make Short Work Of Galactus

The Batman Who Laughs kept getting more dangerous, eventually joining with Perpetua. Not content with ruling at her side, he found a multiversal Batman who made himself into Doctor Manhattan. The Batman Who Laughs then took over his body, becoming nigh-omnipotent and destroying Perpetua in a climactic battle. While he’d eventually lose to Wonder Woman, it took her tapping into a greater power than ever to have a chance.

This incarnation of the Batman Who Laughs would have made short work of Galactus. He was able to defeat Perpetua, a being who could create or destroy entire Multiverses, so Galactus would be easy to beat.

8 Solaris The Tyrant Sun Would Surprise Galactus

Solaris the Tyrant Sun from All-Star Superman

Solaris the Tyrant Sun is one of DC’s most underrated villains. A powerful solar computer, it can change the light frequency of the sun. At full power, it was able to slaughter scores of 853rd century superhumans, which is more impressive when one realizes how much more powerful they are than 21st-century superhumans.

Its intelligence and onboard weapon systems are vast, which would give it an advantage over Galactus. Galactus has never faced anything like the Tyrant Sun, which is going to allow it to come up with a surefire way to defeat him.

7 Parasite Would Best Galactus At His Own Game

Parasite is one of Superman’s most dangerous foes. Parasite’s entire MO is draining his foes of their power, which he can do without touching them and just by being near them. Galactus is basically a buffet to the Parasite and the villain’s power is actually uniquely suited to defeat Galactus. The lower Galactus’s energy level is, the easier he is to beat.

With Galactus’s power at his disposal, Parasite would destroy him. Galactus is used to being the leech and not the one being drained, so it would be interesting to see how he deals with the tables being turned.

6 Eclipso Has The Pedigree To Defeat Galactus

Eclipso

Eclipso is one of the most dangerous villains on Earth. The former Spirit of God’s Wrath, Eclipso doesn’t have the reality-altering might that he wielded as an angel but he’s still devastatingly powerful. His best power is his ability to control the minds of others, something that would give him a unique advantage over Galactus.

Eclipso could throw mind-controlled servants at the giant, wearing him down, or just attack Galactus on his own. The scariest proposition of the battle is if Eclipso can take control of Galactus, giving him access to one of the fiercest cosmic predators anywhere.

5 Brainiac’s Ship Is The Key To Him Destroying Galactus

Brainiac is one of Superman’s most frightening foes, a being who has traveled the cosmos committing atrocities. His intellect and physical powers are vast but it’s his ship that will allow him to defeat Galactus. It’s survived nearly everything thrown at it and is filled with amazing, one-of-a-kind technologies. It’s also equipped with weapons that can destroy stars.

It’s not known if Galactus could survive a star going supernova but it would weaken him. Brainiac could go that route or merely attack Galactus with a spread of those star-destroying missiles. Either way, Brainiac’s ship contains weapons that would lead him to victory over the World Devourer.

4 Superboy-Prime Is More Than Powerful Enough To Beat Galactus

Superboy Prime Anti-Monitor Armor

Superboy-Prime’s life was defined by tragedy and his reactions to those tragedies. Superboy-Prime’s rage was only matched by his power level, which let him move planets with ease and beat just about every hero or group of heroes in his way. Superboy-Prime redeemed himself in the end but he was one of the most dangerous villains around for some time.

As powerful as Galactus is, it’s doubtful he’d be able to survive Superboy-Prime flying through his head at light speed. That’s something that the young Kryptonian would do, so Galactus really only survives as long as Superboy-Prime wants him to.

3 Nekron Would Beat Galactus

Blackest Night introduced the Black Lantern Corps to the DC Universe. The Black Lantern Corps is led by the embodiment of death, Nekron. Nekron’s power was such that none of the heroes could phase him and only the power of the Life entity and the White Lanterns could stop him. Nekron is just about impossible to defeat, giving him an advantage over Galactus.

It gets even worse for the cosmic titan if Nekron has access to the Black Lantern Corps. He could send the undead legion after Galactus, with trillions of them ripping him to bits. No matter how the battle went, Galactus would die.

2 The Anti-Monitor Is More Powerful Than Galactus Can Imagine

The Anti-Monitor has the highest kill count in comics, having destroyed an unknown number of universes in his quest to end everything. His vast array of powers made him a nearly impossible foe to beat and it took the heroes of five Earths to finally end his rampage. Galactus eats planets but the Anti-Monitor has devoured entire universes. He would certainly beat Galactus.

It’s a question of scale; Galactus is like a night light compared to the star that is the Anti-Monitor. It would barely be a fight, as the Anti-Monitor’s shadow demons would tear Galactus apart. Even if they couldn’t, their master would easily finish the job.

1 Perpetua Has More Power Than Galactus Can Imagine

DC Dark Nights Death Metal Perpetua Erases Earths

Perpetua is one of the most dangerous villains the Justice League ever faced. She was one of the Hands who created and destroyed Multiverses, existing beyond the Source Wall. She came into the DC Multiverse through a crack in the wall and decided that the Multiverse needed changing. She almost succeeded, only stopping when she was betrayed by the Batman Who Laughs.

Perpetua’s power is much greater than Galactus’s. He doesn’t stand a chance against her and as powerful as he is, it’s doubtful he could even phase her. It would be a one-sided battle and Galactus would be humiliated by the end.
