Bonnie Wright, who played Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter films, announced her marriage on social media.
On Instagram, Wright, who is 31-years-old, posted a video wearing her and her husband, Andrew Lococo, wearing their wedding bands. In her caption, she called her wedding the “best day of [her] life.” You can see a still from the video below and find the full video on Wright’s Instagram.
Wright first appeared as Weasley in 2001’s Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and reprised her role until the film series ended with 2011’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2. In the books and films, Ginny Weasley is the younger sister of Ron Weasley. She eventually marries Potter. Since the end of her time as Weasley, Wright has appeared in a number of other films, including 2013’s Before I Sleep and 2014’s After the Dark. She’s also directed several projects.
The Harry Potter series launched in 1997 and follows the titular wizard in his fight against the evil Lord Voldemort. Seven books were released in the main series. Since its debut, the Harry Potter franchise has become one of the most-profitable intellectual properties ever thanks to a number of successful films, video games and other media.
Following the end of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2, there have been a number of franchise spinoffs. The Fantastic Beasts series started in 2016 with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. That movie proved a commercial success and, in 2018, a sequel titled Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald released. The third film in that series, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, is scheduled to release on April 15.
Outside of the Fantastic Beasts movies, Avalanche Software is currently working on Hogwarts Legacy, an action role-playing game set prior to the events of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. The game sees players taking on the role of a student at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and will allow them to explore various locations from the franchise while learning magic. Hogwarts Legacy is slated for release in Q4 2022 on all current-gen consoles as well as PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows.
