Hawkman has been one of DC’s toughest heroes since the Golden Age. His origin has been through as many changes as DC has had continuity retcons. Still, the character himself is simple — Carter Hall uses his Nth metal harness and various medieval weapons to pound on villains while flying around. He’s been alive for millennia, reincarnating across space and time, working with Justice Society and Justice League on Earth. He’s as tough as a two-dollar steak.
Marvel‘s villains can be formidable, with some of the strongest antagonists in comics among their ranks. Hawkman would teach many of them a rather painful lesson, showing them why he’s one of the greats.
10 Bullseye Wouldn’t Be Able To Seal The Deal
Bullseye is one of the most dangerous assassins around, with his ability to turn anything he throws into a deadly weapon giving him a leg up on most foes. He’s also a fantastic hand-to-hand fighter and very hard to hurt because some of his bones are adamantium. He’d take one look at Hawkman and be spotting target points, licking his chops for the battle.
Bullseye would undoubtedly do some damage to Hawkman, but it wouldn’t be enough. His Nth metal harness gives him a healing factor that would help him deal with Bullseye’s attacks. Even if the assassin was somehow able to take away his wings, that just means he’d have to deal with an enraged Hawkman face to face, which would be even worse for Bullseye.
9 Kingpin Is No Match For Hawkman
Kingpin can be a very dangerous foe when he needs to be. As one of the world’s greatest criminals, he has an entire apparatus of thugs at his disposal and the resources to hire the best mercenaries. He’s a cunning man and a mountain of muscle who can even challenge Spider-Man. Kingpin can do a lot of damage, but Hawkman would be able to handle him rather easily.
Whether he had to deal with Kingpin’s henchmen first or just Kingpin one on one, it wouldn’t matter. Hawkman has waded through legions of foes before to take out their leader, so that wouldn’t be a problem. Kingpin is tough, but Hawkman is stronger, has the mobility advantage, and has a mace. That would be enough.
8 Grim Reaper Would Be Easy Picking For Hawkman
Grim Reaper isn’t exactly a powerful villain, but he’s formidable. The quasi-immortal foe of Wonder Man and the Avengers, Grim Reaper’s physical prowess is on the lower end of things, but his scythe’s energy blasts give him a great long-range weapon. Grim Reaper has been able to challenge the Avengers on his own, but Hawkman would do a number on him.
Grim Reaper is strong, but he isn’t skilled, and Hawkman has often dealt with more dangerous enemies than him. His mobility advantage would let him avoid damage, and after one dive bomb mace attack, Grim Reaper would be out of the fight.
7 Kang Would Give Hawkman A Run For His Money, But It Wouldn’t Be Enough
Kang has been battling Marvel’s heroes under multiple guises for years. His knowledge of his foes and futuristic armor have made him one of the most dangerous villains around. However, his schemes are so dependent on everything working out perfectly that he’s not as unstoppable as he lets on. This is why Hawkman would be able to beat him.
Kang would underestimate Hawkman, thinking that he was better than the man with wings. While his weapons and armor give him every advantage, Hawkman has made a career out of beating people like Kang. The Conqueror’s underestimation of Hawkman would be his downfall.
6 Mystique’s Shapeshifting Powers Wouldn’t Save Her From Hawkman
Mystique is one of the deadliest mutants on the planet, with her shapeshifting and black ops experience melding nicely. Her years of experience as a villain also mean she’s more than just a tricky assassin; she’s a legitimate threat to any hero out there in a straight-up fight, having battled some of the X-Men’s most formidable members. Mystique and Hawkman would be a great fight, but Hawkman would take it.
Mystique’s shapeshifting abilities aren’t going to make a lot of difference in this fight. She’s very good, so she’s going to be able to hurt Hawkman, but not enough to take him down. Eventually, it will come down to a head-to-head battle, which isn’t a fight that she can win in this case.
5 Lady Deathstrike Wouldn’t Be Able To Carve Up This Bird
Lady Deathstrike is one of Wolverine’s strongest foes, and her cybernetic enhancements make her a match for the Canadian mutant. She’s a skilled martial artist and has proven able to take a ridiculous amount of damage, so she’s definitely going to be a challenge for Hawkman. As good as she is, though, she’s not going to be able to win.
Hawkman’s mobility advantage is going to make a huge difference in this fight. Lady Deathstrike is good, but she has no method of a long-range attack. Hawkman can stay out of her way and hit her from angles she can’t really protect against. They’d have a great fight, but Hawkman would take it.
4 Romulus Is A Better Schemer Than Fighter
Wolverine has had a tough go of things, and a lot of that is due to Romulus. The shadowy manipulator behind most of his sorrow, Romulus is a great long-term planner. He can play his foes like musical instruments, but he’s not proven to be all that dangerous in a fight, with few actual real victories to his name.
Romulus isn’t going to have decades to mess with Hawkman’s mind. He can be dangerous in a fight, but he’s nothing that Hawkman hasn’t faced before. The fight would be slightly challenging for him, but in the end, Romulus would fall like all the rest.
3 Hawkman’s Years Of Experience Would Win Out Over Doctor Octopus
Doctor Octopus is one of Spider-Man’s oldest foes, having battled the Wall-Crawler since the beginning. His robotic tentacles make him a formidable enemy, and he’s been a villain a long time, so he has a lot of experience. Hawkman has more, though, and another advantage — he’s not an often physically ailing man without his wings or weapons.
Doc Ock will definitely give Hawkman some trouble; he’s one of the best. However, getting past the arms isn’t impossible for someone as skilled as Hawkman. It would definitely be an interesting fight, but Hawkman will emerge victorious.
2 Kraven And Hawkman Make A Great Match, But Hawkman Wins
Kraven the Hunter has more than proven how formidable he is over the years. He owns some rather impressive wins over Spider-Man and has battled many other heroes as well, showing just what he can do. A battle between Kraven and Hawkman would be an amazing one; Kraven’s MO would challenge Hawkman, who is used to things being out in the open.
However, Hawkman is no slouch at hunting either, and he could turn the tables on Kraven. Once it gets down to an actual fight between the two, they’re going to tear at each other like wild animals. Hawkman’s healing factor will make all the difference, though, allowing him to beat Kraven.
1 Hawkman And Green Goblin Would Have An Epic Aerial Battle
Spider-Man and Green Goblin have had some epic battles over the years. Green Goblin is a cunning, strong villain, and he’s proven to be a match for just about any hero he’s battled over the years. While there’s no doubt that Green Goblin is stronger than Hawkman, he’s not as skilled or experienced, and that’s going to make a lot of difference.
The two would have an epic aerial showdown, but Hawkman has the maneuverability advantage. That’s going to make a lot of difference against Goblin, letting him attack the villain in ways that can’t be countered. He’d target the goblin glider, take it out, and control the high ground, which would give him the win.
