Marvel Introduces Carnage’s Biggest Fan – And It’s Unexpectedly Disturbing

Carnage discovers that it has a super fan in the villain’s brand new ongoing series.

Written by Ram V. with art by Francesco Manna, a preview for the issue opens with a flashback to Absolute Carnage. In the 2019 event, Cletus Kasady was resurrected by a cult worshipping Knull, the original God of the Symbiotes, and created his own legion of followers as he hunted down every person to ever bond with a symbiote. While Carnage sought to gain the attention of Knull in the event, Carnage #1 reveals that someone was trying to draw the serial killer’s eye instead of the symbiote god.

This Carnage stan’s name is Kenneth, and the preview shows that not only did he murder others in the villain’s name, but he also admired him from a very young age. Lately, stories of Carnage infecting the minds of children have become more commonplace in Marvel Comics, and have involved the symbiote forcing its young host to attack their family. This occurred both in Carnage’s 30th anniversary one-shot, Carnage Forever #1, as well as the past year’s Carnage: Black, White & Blood anthology series.

If Carnage was looking for a like-minded host, Kenneth may be a good fit for the symbiote’s violent appetite. The recent Extreme Carnage event bonded Carnage with Arthur Krane, who appeared to be an altruistic son and political hopeful, but turned out to be a killer and twisted individual in his own right with a history of murder. However, Carnage was forced to part ways with Arthur and seized control over Iron Man’s “Extrembiote” armor, which is a symbiote suit infused with Extremis.

Carnage does not appear to be interested in a host at the present moment though. In Carnage Forever, when Hydro-Man offered himself to be the symbiote’s new host, the villain rejected the offer and instead attacked Hydro-Man, talking about how it had “only recently begun to understand the full extent of [its] own capabilities without [its] host.” Readers will have to tune in to the series to find out just what exactly Carnage’s new plan is.
