Sakura gets a lot of flack from Naruto fans, and it’s gotten so out of hand over their years that people seem to forget she still has good qualities despite the issues with her character development. Not to mention, for young female fans in the early 2000s, she was one of the only main female leads for them to relate to.
It’s not a secret that Sakura’s character wasn’t handled all that well throughout the Naruto series. Everything about her personality seemed to revolve around Sasuke, and she was rarely given the opportunity to show how powerful she truly is. Despite all that, a lot of Sakura’s good qualities still manage to shine through, and for a lot of fans, she has always been someone they can look up to.
10 She Is Super Smart
Sakura may not be a genius like Shikamaru, but when it comes to the fundamentals of Chakra control she is ahead of the curve. She sped through the written portion of the Chunin Exams without cheating, which was nearly impossible for everyone else. Her understanding of Chakra isn’t just useful in the classroom either. She is able to apply what she knows and learn new techniques incredibly quickly. When team 7 was first learning to climb trees through the Chakra on their feet, she was able to do it on her first try.
9 Sakura Is One Of The Strongest Shinobi
Sakura inherited her monstrous strength from Tsunade and managed to become even more powerful than her predecessor. She is able to destroy an entire battlefield with a single punch and went toe to toe with a member of the Akatsuki nearly on her own. Chiyo of the sand village probably wouldn’t have been able to fight back against the Third Kazekage’s metal sand if Sakura hadn’t been there to blow the giant metal pieces away with her punches. When it comes to physical fights, Sakura definitely is someone no one wants to mess with.
8 She Cares Deeply for Her Friends And Comrades
Sakura grew a lot as the series progressed, especially with how she treated others. She was initially callous towards Naruto and his situation, but as they spent time together, he quickly became one of her closest friends. As she matured, she realized the pressure she had put on Naruto in the past and tried to change that, even if she didn’t go about it in the best way.
It’s obvious she feels a deep connection with her friends and village and she’s willing to risk it all to make sure her friends are safe. Her determination to take care of Sasuke and free Naruto from his burden just shows how she values her friend’s happiness over her own.
7 She Has A Lot Of Determination
Although Sakura doesn’t outwardly show it, she is just as competitive as the other members of team 7. She regularly challenges Ino for Sasuke and never backs down when it comes to a challenge. Even during the bleakest moments of the 4th Great Ninja War, she was determined to make a difference and save everyone. It’s because she refused to give up that Naruto survived having Kurama removed from his body.
6 Sakura Is Much Braver Then People Think
Fans who dislike Sakura often comment on the fact that she doesn’t contribute much towards her team and ignore how brave she’s been. Facing skilled Shinobi isn’t easy even for the most experienced of ninja, but Sakura was doing that as a young Genin. During the Zabuza Arc, she regularly stepped in front of the bridge builder to protect him from enemy attacks despite her lack of skill. She also successfully defended her teammates during the Chunin Exams despite the fact that she could have been killed. Whether fans want to admit it or not, Sakura is a lot braver than most.
5 Sakura’s Chakra Control Is Uncontested
Considering Sakura isn’t from a special clan and she doesn’t have a Kekkei Genkai, it’s amazing how much she was able to achieve as a Shinobi. A lot of that is due to the fact that she has always had excellent Chakra control, which is even better than her teammates’, Sasuke and Naruto.
With her amazing Chakra skills, she was able to become a top Medical Ninja, even surpassing Tsunade. The fact that she mastered the Hundred Healings Jutsu at such a young age shows how incredibly talented she is when it comes to controlling and using Chakra.
4 She Is Self-Motivated
Sakura never needs someone else to hold her hand when it comes to training. When she decides to do something, she does it, and that’s probably why she becomes such a great Medical Ninja so quickly. Even when she was going through hell training with Tsunade, she refused to back down because she wanted to be strong enough to support her friends and comrades. If she hadn’t been so self-motivated and determined to get stronger, she probably wouldn’t have ended up so smart and skilled.
3 She Shows A Willingness To Change
Sakura was a bit of a jerk at the beginning of the series and overly obsessed with Sasuke. She was blind to anyone else’s pain and didn’t have much empathy for the people around her, especially Naruto. However, over the course of the series, she watched how hard Naruto worked and realized she had misjudged him. Sakura was never stuck in her ways and always gave people an opportunity to change her way of thinking. This was especially true for Rock Lee, who she was initially creeped out by but grew to love as a friend.
2 Sakura Is Incredibly Loyal
To many, Sakura’s loyalty to Sasuke was a bad thing, but it was because of that loyalty that Sasuke was able to change for the better. Like Naruto, she never gave up on the idea that Sasuke would change, and it was that loyalty that helped bring peace to the Shinobi world. Sasuke wasn’t the only one Sakura was loyal to either. No matter what village someone was from, Sakura would fight for them and be a true friend to them.
1 It’s Easy For Her To Forgive
Considering all the times Sasuke tried to kill her, it’s amazing she was able to forgive him so easily. Most people wouldn’t, which shows how much of a better person she is. Even their other classmates were ready to give up on Sasuke after he attacked Killer Bee from the cloud village, but Sakura held on to her feelings for him. Her forgiving nature also made it a lot easier for her to rely on new allies. Despite everything Obito did, she was willing to work with him, saving Sasuke’s life because of it.
