Luminous Productions and Square Enix are set to release a new RPG this year where Frey finds herself in the unknown world of Athia. Players control the female protagonist in this narrative-driven adventure and explore the stunning environments while searching for a way home.
With her elemental abilities and magical talents, Frey must battle dragons and mysterious beings on her journey. She is also Athia’s only hope of defeating the formidable Tanta Sila. The action-fighter game will be available on PC and PS5 and Forspoken‘s release date has now been pushed back to October 11th.
9 Redfall Is A Vampire Slaying Co-Op FPS
In 2021, during Microsoft and Bethesda’s E3 presentation, Redfall was revealed with a captivating cinematic trailer. The open-world FPS will focus on co-op gameplay and encourage players to work together to slay the blood-thirsty vampires that plague the town of Redfall.
With a roster of charismatic characters with unique abilities, gamers are eager to learn more about the gameplay and the enemies they will be fighting. Some aspects of Redfall look to be influenced by last year’s Back 4 Blood or the Left 4 Dead games. The title is due to be released a year after Arkane Studios’ Deathloop for PC and new-gen Xbox consoles.
8 God Of War: Ragnarök Will Take Place After The 2018 Game
The Playstation franchise will continue this year with the release of God Of War: Ragnarök. The father and son duo return in another mythical adventure which is set to take place a few years after the story from the 2018 game. Ragnorök‘s major antagonists will include Kratos’ old friend, Freya, who seeks revenge over the death of her son. God Of War: Ragnarök was announced at Sony‘s PlayStation 5 showcase in 2020 and is likely to be released after the summer season.
7 Hogwarts Legacy Is The Video Game Harry Potter Fans Have Been Waiting For
In the long-anticipated Harry Potter game, players will be able to create their own character and choose a house before experiencing life as a Hogwarts student. The story is set in the late 1800s and the immersive open-world will allow players to explore the school, the Forbidden Forest, and the nearby village of Hogsmeade.
Familiar creatures from the wizarding world are expected to be featured in the game such as Trolls, Giant Spiders, and Hippogriffs. Fans believe new beasts, characters, and locations will also be introduced in Hogwarts Legacy. Avalanche Software and Portkey Games originally set the release date for 2021, however, as the year commenced, it was postponed to 2022.

Bethesda‘s first original RPG in 25 years has been in development for at least 6 years. Starfield will take place in the 24th century and is believed to be entirely single-player. The sci-fi title was announced at E3 in 2018 and Bethesda has still yet to reveal accurate gameplay footage or any concrete details on the story.
Bethesda Game Studios director and executive producer, Todd Howard, called Starfield “Skyrim in space” in an interview with The Washington Post. The game will be released on November 11th and available on Xbox Series X, Series S, and Windows 10.

Lord Of The Rings: Gollum will tell the tale of the classic character’s adventures after he acquires the ring. Daedalic Entertainment returned to Tolkien’s books for inspiration for Gollum where players control Gollum in this cinematic stealth title. Gameplay footage shows the fictional character climbing great heights and sneaking around behind enemy lines.
Fans will experience Middle-Earth like never before as they play through the untold story of Gollum’s experience below the Dark Tower and his time among the Elves of Mirkwood. The upcoming title will also factor in the creature’s dual personality and force players to make decisions favoring Smeagol or Gollum. The action-adventure game is planned to release later this year on all major platforms.

Skull & Bones was revealed at E3 in 2017 and has been in development for almost 10 years. After the success of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, fans have been waiting for Ubisoft’s next online nautical exploration game.
Skull & Bones takes place in the year 1721 and transports players to the diverse ecosystems of the Indian Ocean. Players will be able to customize their vessel and plunder loot across the shared open world. Although the release date is still unconfirmed, Ubisoft’s recent financial update states: “Skull & Bones will now be released in 2022-23,” which means there is a chance it will hit the shelves before the end of the year.
1 An Untitled Modern Warfare Game Could Be The Last Release In The Series For A While
As many gamers could have guessed, another CoD game will be released later this year. Fans now know that the Infinity Ward title is going to be a sequel to 2019’s Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare which is likely to be released in October or November. Other than a continuation in the story, and an addictive multiplayer aspect, little more is known about the game.
There are reports that Activision plans to take a break in the franchise next year which means the upcoming release could be the last game until 2024. This has only generated more excitement and understandably, fans are expecting the next game to have a bigger replayability factor.
